I have known this incredible man for seventeen years and not once has my love for him

faded. See...I have known him for seventeen years, and within those years, my life has been
complete. He is the one man I see on the sidelines through every first day, school play, tennis
match, swim meet, birthday, holiday, etc. He is the one man who makes the most out of the little
things. His laugh is the most contagious laugh I have ever heard. You see he is not perfect. I
have seen this man handle one of lifes greatest challenges as a parent. He does not face every
obstacle with a smile on his face. I see him smiling on the outside, but crushed on the inside. It
pains me to see him sad, but it makes me view him as more of a hero. He is my hero because he
chooses to not let things get in the way of his happiness.
As I stared at him on the day of my last high school prom, I froze. I saw tears form in his
big, brown eyes. He looked at me the way I hope my husband looks at me one day and told me I
was beautiful. I realized at that moment that I am where I am because of him today. He has given
me more than I could ever imagine; the love and affection I need to fill myself with confidence.
He has given me every possibility I can think of and to him, it still isnt enough. My father has
always been there for me and always will be. He is the one true person I can count on to be there
for me.
