Wireless Access for Health

In local planning, data is vital. The effectiveness of all the PPAs

depends on excellent data. By excellent data, we mean it to be
accurate, complete, verified, and up-to-date. Aside from the fact that
effectiveness of PPAs depends on excellent data, it is thru the use of
data can we measure the efficiency of our workers, the sustainability or
PPAs, and the progress of targeted tasks.

To tell you frankly, before the WAH, I often get frustrated with the local
health statistics presented in our council meetings. It presented a
vague perspective on the effectiveness of the health strategies and as
to what were really needed in improving the health service delivery
systems. I also observed that the annual reports were repetitions of the
past annual health reports. It is as if there were no significant
improvements in both the health delivery systems and the health
conditions of the people. As a result of my frustration, I usually took
the shotgun approach; aiming on issues with hopes of hitting the
targets thru scattered strategies.
