The Nobel Prize 2015

The Norwegian Nobel Committee has announced that the Nobel Prize for
2015. At the Nobel Prize Award Ceremony in Stockholm, Sweden, on 10
December, presentation speeches extoll the Nobel Laureates and their
discovery or work, after which His Majesty the King of Sweden hands each
Laureate a diploma and a medal. The event is followed by the Nobel Banquet,
with 1,300 guests, held at the Blue Hall of the Stockholm City Hall since 1934.
The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 2015
The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 2015 was divided, one half jointly
to William C. Campbell of Ireland and Satoshi Omura of Japan "for their
discoveries concerning a novel therapy against infections caused by
roundworm parasites" and the other half to Youyou Tu "for her discoveries
concerning a novel therapy against Malaria".

The Nobel Prize in Physics 2015


The Nobel Prize in Physics 2015 was awarded jointly to Takaaki Kajita of
Japan and Arthur B. McDonald of Canada "for the discovery of neutrino
oscillations, which shows that neutrinos have mass".

The Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2015


The Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2015 was awarded jointly to Tomas Lindahl,
Paul Modrich and Aziz Sancar "for mechanistic studies of DNA repair".

The Nobel Prize in Literature 2015


The Nobel Prize in Literature 2015 was awarded to Svetlana Alexievich "for
her polyphonic writings, a monument to suffering and courage in our time".

The Nobel Peace Prize 2015

The Nobel Peace Prize 2015 was awarded to National Dialogue Quartet "for
its decisive contribution to the building of a pluralistic democracy in Tunisia in
the wake of the Jasmine Revolution of 2011".

The Nobel Economic Sciences Prize 2015


The Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred
Nobel 2015 was awarded to Angus Deaton "for his analysis of consumption,
poverty, and welfare".
