Cryopreservation of Cells

Step 1: Prepare the freezing medium

40% Serum (FBS)

50% 10% Medium + Glut + P/S

10% DMSO

Mix thoroughly and filter through 0,2m sterile filter.

Step 2: Prepare the labels for cryopreservation

Cell Line ; Date ; Passage No.; ; Name of owner; Resistance ; Medium

Keep Mr Frosty at RT
Step 3: Suspend the cells

Centrifuge cells with max 1000 rpm for 3 min

Aspirate the medium

Resuspend the pellet in freezing medium

Add the remaining freezing medium (1 ml per cryogenic vessel)

Mix and aliquot

Keep in Mr Frosty immediately and store it in -80C
