UNDERSTANDING

VALUES
1. Equality
2. Acceptance
3. Honesty
4. Justice

VALUES: EQUALITY
Strength: At my internship, I objectively review
charging partys case without judgment.

VALUES: ACCEPTANCE
Strength: At my internship, I review cases and conduct
interviews without bias.

VALUES: HONESTY
Concern: At my internship, I tend to always believe
both charging party and respondent are telling the
truth.
Moving forward: I will aim to be more realistic and
rational when reviewing charging party and respondent
evidence.

VALUES: JUSTICE
Strength: At my internship, I do my best to accurately
summarize evidence to ensure respondent receives
proper sanction.

PRIVILEGE
1.Education
2.Middle class and white

PRIVILEGE: EDUCATION
Strength: In my personal life and at my internship, I
am knowledgeable of present discrimination and
inequality.
Concern: In my personal life and at my internship, I
occasionally view and interpret situations from my
educated standpoint.
Moving Forward: I need to be more open minded and
use my education for the betterment of society.

PRIVILEGE: MIDDLE CLASS &

WHITE
Strength: In my personal life, I am faced with little
oppression and minute financial strain.
Concern: In my personal life and at my internship, I
occasionally view situations from my perspective
and experiences.
Moving Forward: I need to practice viewing
situations from a more inclusive point of view.

COMMUNICATION STYLE IN
CONFLICT
1.Confronting or collaborating
2.Withdrawing

COMMUNICATION STYLE IN CONFLICT:

CONFRONTING OR COLLABORATING
When challenged with conflict in my personal life, I
generally confront the situation and work with the
person who I have conflicting views with in order to
reach a shared goal.
Strength: In my personal life, I have concern for
both my goals and relationships.

COMMUNICATION STYLE IN
CONFLICT: WITHDRAWING
When challenged with conflict at my internship, I tend
to avoid confrontation and do what I am told in fear of
forming negative relationships or enemies.
Concern: Because my internship is short term, I
have little concern for both my goals and
relationships.
Moving Forward: At my internship, I need to be more
assertive and ask questions when faced with conflict
rather than being submissive.
