GRADE LEVEL: Kindergarten-Math
I.

SOL: K.2.c. The student, given a set of containing 15 or fewer concrete objects, will tell how many
a) by counting orally
b) write the numeral
c) select/ identify the numeral from a set of numerals

(Objective and condition) Today I will: be able to able to identify numbers 0-20 by saying the
numbers and counting objects to match the numeral
(Why/Big Idea/relevance) So That I: will be able to count things in different activities in schools
and different things at home too.
(Criteria for Success) I know Ive got it when: I can correctly identify 17 out of 20 numerals with
no more than one prompt.

IV.

Learning Experiences:
(a) Engage (Warm Ups):
The teacher and the student will do puzzle activity to join the cards that match the correct
numeral with its spelling and number of objects shown.
Instruct:
1. Guided practice: The teacher will review numbers in the teen using the teen board. He will
use 10 blocks grid to practice counting numbers after 10 by placing objects on the grid to
match the numeral shown.
2. Independent practice: The student will paste the missing numbers on the given worksheet
with no more than one prompt.
(b) Closure:
The student will play a number bingo game to identify numerals 1-20.

Materials:
Pencil, 10 grid block sheet, bingo sheet, number worksheet.
