SIGNS OF BUILDING COLLAPSE
Cracked or dropping arches over doors, windows
or other openings
Spalling of stonework, falling of cornices etc.
particularly on buildings with facings of ornamental stone
Sagging floors or beams or gaps between the
floors and the walls
Displacement of steel or cast iron pillars
supporting joist or beams No Officer should risk the lives of personnel if
there is possibility of collapse. They should be
moved from the area immediately.
