1.Violence-a universal
challenge
No country or community is
untouched by violence.
Violence is an extremely diffuse and
complex phenomenon.
Violence divides into three broad
categories: self-directed violence ;
interpersonal violence; and collective
violence.
Self-directed
violence
Magnitude of the
problem
Suicide
Child abuse
Child Protective
Service (CPS)
agencies
investigated
more than
3,25 million
reports of child
abuse in 2001.
Self-directed violence
In much of the world, suicide is
stigmated and in some countries
suicidal behaviour is a criminal
offence punishable by law.
An estimated 815 000 people
worldwide killed themselves in 2000.
Violence in schools in
the USA
The threat of
attacks in
schools can
create fear and
disorder
among
students and
teachers.
In the end
Over all I want to sustain my
opinion that the phenomenon of
violence got to stop .
I refuse the thought that we and
in future our children ,will live a
life in fear and violence .
