Ashley Hollingshead is a director, performer, and do-er of
things based in Chicago. Ashley is one half of the queer
performance duo CURRENT BIOGRAPHY. Their first full length
performance, GETTING TO KNOW YOU, will be happening in late

Corey Smith is a composer, writer, performer, collaborator,
and recent Chicago transplant. Corey is one half of the queer

Sindy I. Castro is an actress, educator, and theatre artist.


She is currently working on a project entitled Stories from My
Mother, exploring what we value most about our relationships
with our mothers. She has worked with Adventure Stage Chicago,
Athenaeum Theatre, National Pastime, and Teatro Luna.

Rebecca Crystal is a dancer, choreographer and dance educator
in Chicago. She currently teaches at The Chicago High School
for the Arts, Joel Hall Dance Center, and CPS elementary
schools through Hubbard Street Dance Centers education
outreach program. She is passionate about using the arts to
instill values of pluralism and multiculturalism.

Dan Caffrey is a playwright and pop-culture critic, writing
for the likes of Consequence of Sound, The A.V. Club, and
Comic Book Resources. You can also see him online as an
interviewer at Audiotree Live, where he talks to bands, and
playing bass and singing in his own band, The Elizabeth Dane.
Daniel Dempsey is a: puppeteer, actor, maker, director, grant
writer, fried chicken enthusiast, creater, bartender, singer,
signer, event planner, lover, liker. More of Daniel's puppetry

Izah Ransohoff is a performance artist in Chicago who also
dabbles in dance and ceramics. Izah draws most of their
inspiration from animal videos and things under tarps.
Jordan Harris is a multi-disciplinary artist hailing from
Evanston, IL. He holds a degree in Opera from the University
of Michigan but since moving back home hes devoted the
majority of his time to educational outreach and musical
theatre, reprising such roles as Mitch Mahoney in Spelling Bee
and Tom Collins in RENT.

Tongyu Zhao is an artist based in her guts, she thinks about
material encounters and lived experiences. In an often chaotic
expression, Tongyu intends to slow down experience and expand

Ashvin Prakash is a Chicago based musician with an obsession
for layering and looping textured noise. Ashvin is currently
working on his fourth album as Supervisor and recording the
debut album for the robot theme band Diaboliser.

Alexis Atwill is a devised theatre maker and actor for hire.
In addition to acting out stories, Alexis dances, shouts
songs, makes noise on her fiddle, and writes fragments. She is
a graduate of The School at Steppenwolf (WP10) and Florida

Jasmine Henri Jordan is a performer from Florida. She is


interested in manipulating pop culture. Jasmine devises,
teaches, and asks a lot of questions.
Savannah Reich is a playwright and theater maker who just
moved to Chicago. She recently finished an MFA in playwriting
at Carnegie Mellon University, where she studied with Rob
Handel.

-HybridSalon is a bi-yearly, interdisciplinary evening of new


performance work made in collaboration, produced by Genesis.
Genesis provides Chicago based artists with opportunities to
connect and network across disciplines, to explore risk and
experimentation in their own artistic practices, and to
investigate working in new models of collaboration.

Curators/Hosts

Alison Auwerda is a performer, arranger, and painter. She was


raised in Houston, TX. In her work she engages with the
painful, honest, and habitual. She misses Chicago greatly, but
hopes to ruffle feathers in her new home of Rehoboth Beach, DE
(yes, this is a place).

Amanda Dunne Acevedo is a deviser, performer, producer and


arts educator. She is the Director of Education at Northlight,
a Teaching Artist with Steppenwolf, and part of the Teaching
Artist Development Studio Alumni Lab at Columbia College. Her
primary artistic home is Genesis.

Kelsey Chigas is an arts educator, performer, and proud


Chicago native. A sometimes-writer/ singer/ storyteller/
dancer/ photographer, she works across disciplines in her
artistic practice and is inspired by the sights, sounds,
complexities and contradictions of the city. Her work often
explores femininity, body image, ritual, and silly dance
breaks.

Lindsey Barlag Thornton is an interdisciplinary artist,


director, producer and educator. She holds an MFA from the Art
Institute of Chicago. She currently teaches Movement at
ChiArts and is a Teaching Artist for the Museum of
