Journal Entry 5 Investigations Begin

Todays class was all about refining and fine tuning our problem, action and topic statements.
We were again placed in groups so that feedback can be given by the group members. As I sat
listening to the different topics of study being investigated, it allowed me to offer ideas that
were learnt yesterday, and to be reacquainted with different strategies previously discussed.
This forum also provided a means of sharing ideas between each other, and with the entire
class participating, it created an atmosphere of enhanced thinking. This forum was different as
the entire class participated as opposed to the smaller group.
We were all asked to state our problem and action and wait for feedback. At times it was
difficult to ascertain what the persons research topic was about, since there were many
different problems identified in the purpose statement. Our lecturers provided valuable
feedback and critique in order for the topics to become specific and realistic considering the
short time in which this study would be conducted. At the end, most of us, if not all of us, we
were able to choose a topic of interest, as we proceeded to begin our investigations.
Today was also our final class for the summer, with an intense five weeks having passed by
very quickly. There will no longer be classes to attend or the bustling of taking notes. From
tomorrow I will be on vacation, but will have with work to accomplish and deadlines to meet.
The closeness of the IT family will be missed as I have grown accustomed to spending time
with our group and lecturers from the beginning of this course. As I looked back to when I first
started, I now feel renewed and confident in making a difference.
