Once they have done that they will be shown haw the notes relate to the alphabet (A, B, C, D, ex). Then the students j (| will be “quizzed” on finding notes (in class a5 a group) 2. Hand Position Five fingers on each hand and each finger will get one note, Wrists relaxed and straight, Fingers not too high up on the keys. Students will then be instructed on the proper fingering numbers (thumbs are 1, and pinkies are 5). Students will put their hands in the proper position and ‘then lift each finger one by one and play from C to G (white keys only). Hands separate and then together. 3. Beginning Reading First students will be given a brief overview of note rhythms (though: they should already have some experience). Students will be shown the notes on the staff from C to G in order. Students will play up and down this 5-note scale while looking at the notes on the board (or in front of them) in just the treble voice. Students will then be given a sheet of paper that has beginning practice examples on them. C. Assessment: judents will be given an in class assignment (the sheet of paper in. activity 3), and will be tested on their ability to play it at some point for the teacher before the end of class. If they are unable to do this students will be asked if they can practice this outside of the classroom and if so students will show their progress to the teacher during the beginning of the next class. D. Closing/Wrap-up: The students will be given a brief review of hand position and note 5min names (even the ones not included in the worksheet). Again they will be ‘quizzed’ as a group just as a refresher. If there is time they will also be given some easy rhythms ta play on a single note of the teachers choice. E. Assignment: Students who did not play the examples on the worksheet to the teacher will be asked to take them home and practice if they have the ability to do so. 7. Accommodations: (@.
