John Holland's Theory of Career Choice (RIASEC) proposes that people are more satisfied and successful in careers that match their personality type. The theory identifies six personality types (Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, Conventional) and suggests people gravitate towards occupations that allow them to use their skills and express their values in an environment similar to their type. The RIASEC model is one of the most widely used systems for career classification today, though other factors like age, gender, education can also influence the career someone chooses.

John Hollands Theory of Career Choice (RIASEC) maintains that in choosing
a career, people prefer jobs where they can be around others who are like them. They search for environments that will let them use their skills and abilities, and express their attitudes and values, while taking on enjoyable problems and roles. (Hollands Theory, 2014)
After taking a personality test Hollands Theory claims people fit into one of the Six Personality Types or Holland Codes (RIASEC):
(The Holland Code, 2012)
-People who choose to work in an environment similar to their
personality type are more likely to be successful and satisfied -Most widely used system of career classification used today -Theoretical model can be affected by age, gender, social class, intelligence and education.
