Industrial Technologists work in a very dynamic engineering environment where they provide
knowledge on the complex manufacturing systems. Industrial Technologists communicate the needs of
production from senior management to the production team. Their primary involvements with
manufacturing systems are analyzing the system needs, Designing the system, and Implementing the plan
to get create the manufacturing system as well as keeping up the maintenance.

Information Technology Services


The Information Technology Services degree allows you to work in several fields because everyone needs an IT
person. The Information Technology Services degree offered by the Department of Instructional Systems and
Workforce Development, is designed to prepare graduates for the use of computer-based information systems,
which include software applications and hardware, and the development and implementation of technical
support for users.
ITS majors also can earn a minor in Business Administration as part of the degree requirements. For
additional information on the business minor contact an academic coordinator in Room 106 McCool Hall.

Teachnology Teacher Education


Face to Face

The Technology Teacher Education with Business Technology degree prepares our graduates to teach
business courses at high school career and technology centers, teach Information and Communication
Technology I and II at the middle school level, teach Career Pathways Experiences (cooperative education),
Computer Applications, and Technology Foundations. Graduates acquire a national certification in
computer literacy also as a certification to teach online.

Online

The program is designed for students who desire to earn an online BS degree to teach business and
technology courses in the middle and high school. Freshman and sophomore year requirements
may be completed through MSU online, at an accredited community college or four-year college.
The junior and senior course requirements are completed through MSU online.

Veterans Certificate Program


Mississippi State University is grateful for the hard work that Veterans have done throughout the years.The
purpose of this certification is to allow anyone is interested the oppurtunity to serve veterans to acquire the
proper training to do so. The certification requires 15 semester hours of work. The Veterans Certificate
Program is offered on the undergraduate and graduate level.

for collegiate students pursuing a business or busines
related career. The Nu Phi chapter of Phi Beta Lambda
was established in 1967 at Mississippi State University
and is sponsored by the Department of I.S.W.D.

The Association of Technology, Management, and


Applied Engineering(ATMAE) is a national student
organization for Industrial Technology students. The
current focus of ATMAE is to ensure that students
are equipped with the appropriate skills that meet
industry's workforce needs, and to provide
professional development opportunities to
maintain the competitive edge in technology,
management, and applied engineering.

Technology Teacher Education

Pi Omega Pi is a national honor society for students


pursuing a degree in business teacher education.
The Alpha Pi Chapter of Pi Omega Pi was chartered
in 1939 at Mississippi State University and is
sponsored by the Department of Instructiona
Systems and Workforce Development. Membership
in Pi Omega Pi is the highest honor a student
majoring in business teacher education can achieve
in his/her professional field.
