Work Location: This position will be located in Ethiopia (Africa).
Reports to: Dr. Fisher
Summary of Duties:
Your clinical skills and resourcefulness will be put to the test. You will work to diagnose and
treat medical conditions not commonly found in the United States, often without the resources
you may be accustomed to having on hand. Your managerial and teaching skills will also be
called upon, as your responsibilities will include supervision and training of local medical staff.
Additional tasks may include assessments, data collection, medical reporting, and more.

Be able to use laboratory equipment


Deliver bad news compassionately, yet honestly
Work in many healthcare settings
Explain a disease or procedure to patients in plain, understandable terms
Know when to speak, and when to listen

Additional Information: Field workers must realize they represent MSF 24 hours a day, 7
days a week while on mission, even during non-working hours and vacation time.

Position Term (month): 9-12 months


Monthly / Yearly Salary: 14,000 (Monthly)
Position Qualifications:
Required
Having a minimum of 2 years professional experience in the related field of
expertise.
For medical profiles, MSF requires proof of medical license to practice in your
home country and a valid registration with the local medical council.

Additional Requirements
Prepared to work in high security settings / conflict zones.
Prepared to work in remote locations and under basic living conditions.
Ability to work and live with team members coming from various backgrounds
and nationalities, for extended periods of time.
Preferred Requirements
Good command of either English or French language (verbal and written).
Availability of up to 12 months (with exceptions to surgical related profiles whose
availability is between 1 to 3 months).
Ability to cope with stress and perform under pressure.
