What is SLA?
Language that is learned after learning the mother

tongue.
It also defined as the way in which people learn a

language other than their mother tongue or


learning a second language after a first language is
already established.

What are the goals of SLA?


Describing how L2 acquisition proceed.
Explain the process of L2 acquisition.
Explain why some learners seems to be

better at it than others.
