 Since our film is a British film it can be
categorised as to how much of the resources
that were using in the production and
distribution were British.
 We decided that our piece should be a

Category A this is due to our piece being fully

financed by people in Britain as well as being
produced and it’s cultural content coming
from Britain.
 Working Title Films is British production company.
Therefore it would be very unlikely for them to be
involved in the distribution of the piece.
 In the past working titles films have worked on ‘Love
Actually’ which was another British romantic
comedy.
 Most of the films that they are involved in are
category A being that they are purely British films,
therefore it is quite likely that they may be
interested in helping to finance the film and from
there some of that money may be spent of the
distribution.
 New Line Cinema is an American distribution company,
which mainly is linked with the genre of Romantic
Comedies. Where they have already released romantic
comedies such as 'Ghosts of Girlfriends Past’. Even though
they are an American company there is still a high chance
that they could distribute the film as Romantic Comedies
have a universal appeal and the idealist views on
relationship that they offer would be accepted in any
country.
 With their ties with TimeWarner it means that the company
has pre-established the links to major multiplexes which
would be the most likely place for our film to be screened as
it has such a generalised audience.
 Universal are probably one of the most recognisable names in Cinema.
They are an established production and distribution company for almost
all main stream genres, because of this one of the things they like their
films to have is universal appeal, such as a romantic comedy genre.
 However Universal Pictures have big budgets for production and
distribution and even though they have this Universal along with the
capability to offer this to us it is very unlikely that they will.
 This is because they are known for going with big directors and well
known actors (to which Universal already have contracts with) to add to
the appeal of the movie and to increase the amount of viewers.
 Due to all of this I feel that although our piece may be suitable for them
they are not very likely to go with Indie film makers as it may not be the
best move or investment for their company.
