Dear Colleagues:
We are inviting you to attend the 6th Rizal Library International Conference entitled,
Leadership and Change: Setting Directions, Braving the Odds, which will be held at
Leong Hall, Ateneo de Manila University, Quezon City, Philippines, on October 23-24,
2014.
The keynote speakers for this conference are Mr. Stephen Abram and Fr. Bienvenido
Nebres, S.J.
Mr. Abram, one of Library Journals original Movers & Shakers in 2002, is currently
Executive Director of the Federation of Ontario Public Libraries, as well as managing
principal at Lighthouse Consulting. He is a former president of both the Special Libraries
Association and the Canadian Library Association, and has been the keynote speaker at
numerous conferences around the world.
Fr. Nebres, who was President of the Ateneo de Manila University for 18 years, continues
to teach mathematics and is engaged in various programs to help overcome poverty in the
country; building homes and communities for the poor with Gawad Kalinga; and
supporting young people engaged in social enterprises for poor communities.
The conference aims to highlight how leadership and change affect librarians and libraries,
from the most mundane to the most complex facets of library and information practice
today. The sub-themes for the conference are:

The conference fee is PhP 3,500.00 (inclusive of food, kit, and certificate). Preregistration
