    The Making Of

    Recycling Beetles

    Concept

    The idea behind my adaptation


    project was to find a way for
    children to engage in recycling. My
    character concepts were based on
    the simple shape of a beetle adapted
    from the traits of recyclable
    materials.

    Although I considered
    concepts for four
    beetles I decided to
    create two in 3D.
    These were Plastic
    and Glass. Plastic
    seemed to have a
    more informed colour
    scheme so Glass was
    revised to match.

    Texturing

    When texturing, I took inspiration from the textures of


    beetles and then applied that in a cartoon style.
