INFORMATION ON ACCOMMODATION FOR SUMMER INTERNS coming from other

institutions
All summer internship students, whether they fall under the Institute
Summer Fellowship (ISF) or project or through private arrangement with a
faculty member should apply for accommodation through the IITM hostel
accommodation request portal only.
No hardcopy or email request will be entertained.
They should use the portal: hosteldine.iitm.ac.in/iitmhostel
use the tab: others login ; Category: internship
Following are some points to note in relation to applying for summer
intern accommodation:
1. The faculty mentor will be responsible for the code of conduct of the
intern ( In the case of ISF, it is the HoD )
2. The faculty member or the intern need not correspond with CCW or DoSt
or their offices separately by email after applying. Also, there is no
necessity for them to visit the DoSt office or the CCW office before the
approval.
3. The intern should have the offer letter/email for the internship from
the respective IITM faculty or Dept. They should also obtain a bonafide
certificate from their parent institution. They will have to upload the
scanned copies of these documents in the portal for verification by the
hostel management before the approval is given.
4. The faculty guide/mentor of the intern will receive an email with a
request to validate the appointment and the need for hostel
accommodation
for the intern. Only upon receiving the validation from the faculty
guide/mentor, further processing of the request for accommodation would
be
carried out.
5. Limited accommodation is available in the hostels. Hostel management
has the right to accept or reject an application for hostel
accommodation.

6. Upon approval of accommodation, the candidate will receive an email

from the hostel management office confirming the allocation, boarding
and lodging charges and other related details. The candidate can also
check the status through the portal.
7. All interns will only be provided a shared accommodation.
8. Information related to any intern withdrawing or discontinuing should
be immediately intimated by the faculty mentor to the hostel management
office ( ccwoffice@iitm.ac.in ).
