It is to submit that the site for this work was handed over to the contractor on 21.05.2014
with an agreement period of 12 months (i.e. 20.05.2015) vide reference First cited above. But the work
could not be completed within agreement period and 1st extension of time was granted upto 31.10.2015
without liquidated damages vide reference 2nd and 2nd EOT was also sanctioned up to 31.03.2016 vide
reference 3rd cited..
In the reference 4th cited above, the contractor represented the work was started and CC
pavement work was completed to a length of 900.00 mts in KM 1/0 to 1/900 on both sides of four lane
road Further, the contractor represented that the work could not be completed within 31-03-2016 due to
change in policy of the sand by the Government, sand could not be procured during the months of
February 2016 and March, 2016. The contractor submitted programme for balance work.
The reason stated by the contractor is genuine and beyond his control as recommended by
the Deputy Executive Engineer (R&B) Sub-Division, Nandyal.
In view of the above reason, it is requested to recommend sanction of extension of time
upto 31.07.2016 without imposing liquidated damages as requested by the contractor.
