Introduction

Schedules and routines help children understand the expectations of the

environment and reduce the rate of behavior problems, such as fighting and
unclear instructions.

a) Short description
This schedule is a display of the division of
the students school day. It shows the time
they arrive, leave, have meals, and study.
Given the timings provided (7:50 am to 2:50
pm), this schedule cannot suit a kindergarten
class. The timings and the division of
activities suit students in first grade to third.

b) Rationale
This schedule helps both students and
teachers. It helps students understand how
their day will go at school and to prepare
themselves for the different activities. It also
helps teachers organize their activities with
the students and to provide following clear
distribution and directions

c) Possible disadvantages/challenges
The teacher might face some challenges. For example, some students
may not be able to complete the activity in the
given time or may they finish it early, and sit Classroom Schedule
doing nothing and disturbing others. Finally,
this is a general timetable, which is hard to apply in every single
classroom as a result of the differences of backgrounds, languages,
objects of the school.

d) Possible variations/adaptations
This schedule can be adapted by: Adding some fun lesson for example,
PE or music. So students will be motivated to come to school.

a) Short description
This display shows one of
the methods in which a
teacher
may
reinforce
positive behaviors and in
the
display
there
are
envelopes and each has a
student name. This chart
includes adding a stick to
the
students
envelope
when
s/he
behaves
positively and removing the
same if s/he behaves
negatively. At the end of
Behavior Motivation Chart
the week the teacher count the sticks,
and the one with the most sticks wins the Princess of the week.

b) Rationale
Just like the schedule, this behavior motivation chart helps both
students and teachers. It helps students understand and take positive
behaviors and avoid negative behaviors in order to be the Princess of
the week at the end. It also helps teachers control students
behaviors.

c) Possible disadvantages/challenges
This display may not be suitable for boys. Another thing is the design
of the chart; it is customized to the theme of the class and cannot be
used in all classes.

Possible variations/adaptations

The display is very useful especially in classes of younger students.
