before he reaches to the bus drives off. ZAID breathes heavily
and looks around.

RAJ
(Voiceover)
I was never expecting this to happen, I thought my parents
cared about my happiness, but they only care about their
reputation. I mean thats it, I dont even have a saying in
this, its all about what my parents want, but what about what
I want? Doesnt that mean anything to them? I just wish theyd
listen to me.

CUT TO.
EXT: PAVEMENT - EVENING
ZAID runs around looking for Raj, chasing the bus that he had
seen her get on. He stands at the bus stop as the bus drives
of past him.
ZAID
FUCK!
CUT TO.
RAJ phone begins to vibrate; the name brother appears on the
screen. She stares at the phone for a few seconds, before
putting it down. Her phone vibrates again and again, RAJ ends
the call and stands up as the bus stops.

EXT: CANAL BANK AFTERNOON

RAJ walks along a canal bank, she sits on a bench

CUT TO.
RAJ
(Voiceover)

I thought theyd understand I mean I thought theyd support

me, because thats what parents are meant to do..right? But I
guess not, they wont ever understand, theres no point even
trying to explain to them. I dont think I ever want to see
them again.
RAJ takes out her phone; she types 121 in her phone and
pressed enter, RAJ hold the phone to her ears.
Brother
(Voicemail)
RAJ.. RAJ.. Please come home, they told me what happened. I
know its going to be hard but youve gotta put their
happiness first. Please Raj call me ....
RAJ ends the call mid sentence and press delete. RAJ eyes
start to well up as she put the phone on the bench beside her
and gets up.
CUTS TO.
ZAID runs along the pavement, looking into shops. He tries to
call RAJ again but it goes straight to voicemail. He decides
to leave her a voicemail.
ZAID
(Voiceover)
Baby, I know you told your parents today and I know it
probably didnt go how you wanted it to but we can get through
this together. Please just pick up.
RAJ
(Voiceover)
I guess this is it then, I wont be seeing my mum or dad
again. I just wish it didnt have to end like this; maybe
theyll come to their senses and just accept how I want things
to be.
CUT TO.
Zaid sees RAJs bag in the far distance and runs towards it.
He looks around shouting her name and she is nowhere to be
seen. He sees her clothes over by the canal side and falls to
the floor.
