Gheysens was born and raised in
Vineland, New Jersey, attending St.
Mary School before transitioning to
Richlands St. Augustine Prep. During
this time he also worked at the car
washes his father owned, instilling in
him the strong, dutiful work ethic he
still maintains to this day. He graduated
from St. Augustines latter in 1989
before going on to Villanova University for his Bachelors and Saint
Josephs University for his M.B.A. His summers were spent with his
family in Sea Isle City on the Jersey Shore. Following college, he spent
4 years as an auditor in Philadelphia before being hired by Wawa in
1997. A decade later in 2007 he was named chief officer in the
financial and administrative fields. In 2012 Chris became President,
and by January 2013, he stepped into the role of CEO of Wawa, Inc. His
success, dedication, and deeply rooted ties to Vineland are what make
Chris a prime example of the good that can come out of this area.
