Nicholas Rivera

My name is Nicholas Rivera but you all can call me Nick or Nicky. I grew up
on the west side of Chicago and my educational experience varied amongst different
schools.

My plans for the future in education is to take advantage of all my opportunities to

shape myself into the best educator I can be. I am an Elementary Education major,
therefore, I want to teach 3rd grade and hold some type of after school activities for my
students. My main goal is to give all my students the passion for learning and to be able
to strive towards to college so they can become independent young adults.

South Shore Neighborhood

These are the three neighborhoods I grew up in from birth to present. I still
consider these neighborhoods home because these are the areas I am most familiar
with.
In my free time I love to watch or play sports. I am currently on the Concordia
Football team and I been playing football for 5 years now. I also play baseball in which
Ive been playing for 16 years.
One thing I find unusual about myself is my love for poetry. Writing poetry wasnt
expected it just kind of happened. However, I enjoyed writing poetry so much I competed
in one of the largest high school poetry slams in the country: Louder Than a Bomb.
