WHAT IS PROFESSIONAL WRITING AND RHETORIC?



In a university, internship,
or workplace setting, writing is
a valued and highly sought after
skill. The Professional Writing
and Rhetoric major seeks to
develop a number of versatile
writers who can write for a variety
of audiences with a variety of
intended purposes.

In this major, students
will learn to format, design, and
further strengthen his or her
writing style for documents such
as: manuals, proposals, press
releases, essays, and more.


From this major, a Professional
Writing and Rhetoric graduate
could go onto pursue careers in
technical writing, law, non-profit
communications, public relations,
marketing, human resources...well
beyond the expectation of a writing
major.
