1. Secure a new position focused on First Year Experience and/or
Student Success strategies. 2. Focus on new routines of work/life balance and mindfulness. Take daily walks on breaks at work. Drink more water. Better habits of healthy eating. Yoga to center the mind and body three times a week with focus on mindfulness.
YEAR 2
1. Be intentional in developing and identifying my professional
network and be strategic in developing a stronger rapport and connection with specific members in my network. 2. Serve on committees to assist in divisional planning and visioning of student experience South 2017 divisional leadership opportunities.
YEAR 3
1. Take time to get more professional development on conflict
resolution and leadership. 2. Pursue teaching student success courses to gain instructional experience and insight on current students. 3. Engage in more professional development opportunities focused on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion facilitation. Attend the Faculty Staff of Color conference and lead a presentation on a topic that integrates EDI principles into practice.
YEAR 4
1. Begin a series of professional interviews to help me increase my
network and learn more about the demands and skills needed to be an administrator at the dean level. 2. Look for the opportunity to be part of the WELA Cohort to gain professional and personal development towards a dean role. 3. Take an active role in district lead projects to expand my network in the district.
YEAR 5
1. Start searching and applying for dean level positions focused on
Student Success, Student Life, or Student Services.
