Attendance Policy
Background (before/after)
What the attendance policy was before
What made this project difficult?
What it is now
Attendance Policy
How it made us feel?
Being involved in the decisions about our future,
decisions that are going
to affect us as students
Empowered, important
Advisory
Why it started?
What the teachers wanted Advisory to be (last
year) (early in the morning, one day a week)
Teachers wanted another way to connect with
students
What really happened?
YATST took on the creation of Advisory as a class
project, in conjunction with the teachers.
Surveyed students on when they wanted Advisory to be
Advisory
What actually happened?
Last year we decided that we would have advisory
Monday mornings from 9:20-9:40
We had to resurvey the students and find out
which teacher they would want as their advisory
mentor
This year, we had to survey the freshman and new
students
We also had to go through a process and changed
advisory to Friday mornings
