Introduction

Poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) – low ionic conductivity

Use of comb shaped polymers - high conductivity but poor mechanical properties

Cross linked conducting polymers - good electrochemical and mechanical properties

Experiments

Polymer networks – PEO/PPO copolymers with terminal primary amine groups

Curing agents – Ethylene glycol diglycidyl ether or Butanediol diglycidyl ether


(EGDGE) (BDDGE)

Lithium salt was dissolved in ethanol and mixed with polymer

Reactions were carried out in a glove box and dried under vacuum at 100°C for 15 hrs

Conductivity is measured using impedance spectroscopy

Conclusion

Ionic conductivity is high and mechanical properties are good

Polymer networks are easy to make and easy to modify the properties

Lithium batteries and supercapacitors

No complex curing process like gamma irradiation or electron beam
