ALABAMA
USS Alabama (battleship):
This battleship is named after
the state of Alabama. I chose
USS Alabama for the reason
that it spent forty months in
service in World War II. It was
specially made in 1942. USS
Alabama is one of the two
surviving South Dakota-class
battleships. This battleship
now serves as a museum that
is open to the public.

Bethel Baptist Church, Parsonage,


and Guard House:
I would make a stop at this place for the
reason that I'm very interested in the
formation of our Human Rights. The Bethel
Baptist Church, Parsonage, and Guard
House stands out to me because it served
as a Human Rights headquarters for the
Alabama Christian Movement from 1956
to 1961. It was historically significant for
the Civil Rights Movement.

ALASKA
Old Sitka:
The Old Sitka was established in
1799 and demolished by Tlingit
attacks in 1802. I chose Old Sitka
for the reason that it was the site
of a Russian American Company
settlement. The settlement was
known as Redoubt St. Archangel
Michael. This settlement was the
first non-Native settlement on
Baranof Island.

H20asis Indoor Water Park:


This destination stands out to me
as a place that I would like to visit
for the reason that I personally
love water parks. I chose this
place because its an indoor
water park. H20asis Indoor Water
Park has nine different attractions.
I think it would be cool to
experience something different
such as an indoor water park and
still enjoy chilly weather.

ARIZONA
Titan Missile Museum:
I chose to visit this place for the
reason that it showcases dramatic
remnants of the Cold War. At this
place, visitors could stand on the
front line of the Cold War. The
Titan Missile Museum provides
education on the history of
nuclear conflict between the U.S.
and former Soviet Union. It was
also a missile site in the U.S.

Grand Canyon:
The Grand Canyon stands out to
me as a place that I would want
to visit. It withholds many amazing
sights. I chose this place for the
reason that I personally love the
outdoors. The Ancient Puebloans
were the first people known to
discover the Grand Canyon. It is
277 miles in length and 6,000 feet
deep.

ARKANSAS
Rohwer War Relocation Center:
I chose to visit the
Rohwer War Relocation
Center for the reason
that is was a World War II
Japanese American
interment camp. I feel as
if it would be interesting
to visit places like this to
gain knowledge on its
history. The relocation
center held as many as
8,475 Japanese
Americans that were
forcibly evacuated from
California. This took
place from September
18th, 1942 until
November 30th, 1945.

Magic Springs and


Crystal Falls:

I would like to visit the Magic


Springs and Crystal Falls for the
reason that it being an
amusement park stands out to
me. I chose to visit this place
because it is very different from
my local amusement park. This
place has many different rides
for people of all ages.

CALIFORNIA
Alcatraz Island:
I chose to visit Alcatraz Island
for the reason that it has tons
of history behind it. Alcatraz
housed some of Americas
dangerous felons from 1934
to 1963. No felon ever tried to
escape this prison for the
reason that it was surrounded
by water. Alcatraz was also
the site of a U.S. Military prison
from 1850 through 1933. It
was shutdown due to high
operational costs.

Disneyland:
Disneyland stands out to me as
a place that I would like to visit
for the reason that it is known as
the happiest place on earth. I
chose to visit this place
because again, I love
amusement parks. Disneyland
features many rides and lots of
places to shop. Overall, its an
enjoyable place.

COLORADO
Central City/Black Hawk Historic
District:
I chose to visit this
place for the
reason that it is
known as the
richest Square
Mile on Earth. This
place features
former gold mining
camps in the Front
Range of the
Rocky Mountains.
John H. Gregory
had discovered
the first rich deposit
of gold rock here.

Pepsi Center:
The Pepsi Center stands out to me
as a place that I would love to visit
because I love Pepsi and sports.
Everyone knows that Pepsi is better
than Coke. I chose this place for the
reason that this center is a
multipurpose sports arena. It is home
to the Denver Nuggets of the
National Basketball Association.

CONNECTICUT
Tapping Reeve House and Law
School:
I chose to visit this place for the reason
that it is the first law school in the
United States. I am also interested in
going to law school. This school is
separate from a college or university.
Currently, this school is open to the
public as a museum. It was founded in
1773.

Mark Twain House:


This destination stands out to me
as a place that I would like to visit
because I personally enjoy Mark
Twains books. I chose this place
because I felt it would be
interesting to see where most of his
novels were written. This house is
currently a museum. Mark Twain
lived and worked here from 18741891.

DELAWARE

Fort Christina:
I chose this place for the reason that
its interesting to learn about its
history. This fort was the first
settlement of the New Sweden
colony. It was build in 1638 and
named after the Queen of Sweden,
Christina. It is now preserved as Fort
Christina State Park with The Fort
Christina monument on site.

Dover International Speedway:


This destination interests me as a place that Id like
to visit because I am very fascinated with cars
and NASCAR races. This Speedway opened in
1969 and currently holds all kinds of races. It is
nicknamed The Monster Mile for the reason that
it underwent a monster makeover. It also holds
a capacity of 135,00 people.

FLORIDA
British Fort:
I chose this place for the reason
that I thought it would be
interesting to see the ruins of
what was a fort. This fort was
built during the war of 1812. It
was occupied by runaway
slaves and many Indians.
Towards the end of the war,
British Fort was demolished by a
massive explosion. Nothing
remains of British Fort.

Walt Disney World:


Walt Disney World is a destination that stands
out to me as a place that Id like to visit
because it is way bigger and better than
Disneyland. This amusement park is the flagship
of Disney's theme park empire. This amusement
park features many rides, attractions, and
shops making it one of the top most visited
places in the world.

GEORGIA
Fort James Jackson:
Fort James Jackson was
built in the period 18081812. I chose this
destination for the reason
that its architectural
designs were eyecatching. This fort was
used by the Confederacy
and defended Savannah
and its harbor. Fort James
Jackson, in 1862,
withstood a minor union
attack.

CNN Center:
The CNN Center stands out to
me as a place that Id like to visit
because whenever Im watching
TV, Im watching CNN or other
news channels. This destination is
the world headquarters of CNN.
People film many of CNNs news
channels in the newsrooms or
studios located in this center. It
first opened in 1976.

HAWAII
Pearl Harbor:
I chose this destination for the
reason that the attack on Pearl
Harbor was significant in history.
The attack on Pearl Harbor was a
surprise attack lead by the
Japanese Navy. This attack took
place on December 7th, 1941. It
led the United States into the entry
of World War II.

Byodo-In Temple:
This destination stands out to me as a
place that Id like to visit because I
have never been to a Temple before.
It was founded in 1968. This Temple is a
replica of a 900 year old Buddhist
Temple at Uji in Kyoto prefecture of
Japan. Inside this temple is a nine-foot
statue of the Lotus Buddha.

IDAHO
Assay Office:
I chose this destination for the
reason that it is significant in
Idaho's history. This office
symbolizes the important factors of
mining in the history of Idaho. Also
the American West. The Assay
Office was operated by the
federal government and was built
in 1870.

Shoshone Falls:
Shoshone Falls is a beautiful waterfall located
on the Snake River in Idaho. This destination
stands out to me as a place that Id like to
visit because I love the outdoors. I chose this
place because it has existed at least since
the end of the last ice age. Some people
have attempted to jump Shoshone Falls.

ILLINOIS

Eads Bridge:
Eads Bridge was completed
in 1874. I chose this
destination for the reason
that it is known as the
longest arch bridge in the
world. It consists of a
combined road and railway
bridge . It extends into St.
Louis, Missouri. It boosted
trade back then.

Knights Action Park:


Knights Action Park is a destination
that stands out to me as a place that
Id like to visit because it consists of
many attractions. I chose this place
because it is a miniature golf park,
driving range, and water park. What I
like about it is that its Caribbean
themed. The owner of this place is
George Knight Sr.

INDIANA
Cannelton Cotton Mill:
I chose this place for the reason
that it was important back in the
days. This Mill produced more
than 200,000 pounds of cotton.
It was once the largest industrial
building in the United States. This
Mill also brought tons of business
and employed many during its
operation from 1851-1900s.

Indianapolis 500:
This destination stands out to me as a place that Id
like to visit because I have a hobby for cars. The
Indianapolis 500 is a 500 mile race that is held
annually. It takes drivers 200 laps to complete the
500 mile race. The first race was in 1911 and is still
being continued till this day. Races are held on
Memorial Day of every year.

IOWA

Fort Des Moines Provisional Army


Officer Training School :
I chose this destination for the reason
that it was involved in World War I. Fort
Des Moines was a training site for black
officers in World War I. African American
officers were trained to be officers for
the U.S. Army at this school. Women also
trained here for the U.S. Army.

Snake Alley:
This destination stands out to me as a
place that Id like to visit because it is
known as the crookedest street in the
world. This alley provides a shortcut
from Heritage Hill to the business
district. Because of its crookedness, it
is only a one way path because
people would fall down trying to go
up it.

KANSAS

Fort Scott:
I chose this destination for the reason
that it was involved in the Civil War. Fort
Scott was established in 1842. It served
as a Civil War garrison. This fort was also
a major central point of black troop
activity and trainings. It was later
abounded in1853 and became a
historical site.

Cricket Wireless Amphitheater:


The Cricket Wireless Amphitheater is an
outdoor amphitheater. This destination stands
out to me as a place that Id like to visit
because I love going to amphitheaters for
entertainment. This one in particular was
opened in 1984 and was renamed several
times. It futures 6,700 reserved seating and is
owned by the Unified Government.

KENTUCKY
Belle of Louisville:
Built in 1914, I chose
to visit this site for the
reason that it is one
of the last
steamboats in
existence. This
steamboat hauled
cargo such as
cotton, lumber, grain,
etc. This boat served
many purposes such
as being a nightclub
for troops stationed
at military bases; it
now serves as a
museum.

Muhammed Ali Center:


The Muhammed Ali Center is a museum
and cultural center. I chose to visit this
place for the reason that it was built as a
tribute to the champion boxer Muhammed
Ali. This destination stands out to me as a
place that Id like to visit because I like to
watch boxing.

LOUISIANA
Fort Jesup:
Fort Jesup was built to help protect
the boarder dividing American and
Spanish territories in 1822. I chose to
visit this destination for the reason that
it was significant in Louisiana's history.
This fort was controlled by president
Zachary Taylor who commanded
soldiers to monitor Texas as it passed
from Mexican control.

Six Flags New Orleans:


Six Flags New Orleans appeals to me as a
destination that Id like to visit because again, I
love amusement parks. I have been to a Six
Flags before and from what I know, every single
location has something different to offer.
Currently, it is an abandoned theme park and
has been closed because of Hurricane Katrina;
it hit in August of 2005. Six Flags New Orleans
opened in May of 2000.

MAINE

Fort Knox:
I chose to visit Fort Knox for the reason that
it was built for a good purpose. It was built
during the aftermath of the 1830s border
disputes. What's cool is that this fort was
built from granite. Also, this fort is a fine mid
19th century reinforcement.

Palace Playland:
Palace Playland stands out to me as a
place that Id like to visit because it is one
of the older amusement parks. This
amusement park was built and had been
operating since 1902. Through out the
years, Palace Playland has nearly
quintupled its attractions.

MARYLAND
Baltimore and Ohio Transportation
Museum and Mount Clare Station:
The Baltimore and Ohio
Transportation Museum
and Mount Clare Station
was built in 1884. I chose
to visit this location for
the reason that it holds
many historical novels
and goods for one to
see about the railroads.
It also showcases actual
trains that were used.
This place futures 250
pieces of railroad rolling
stock, and many other
collections of artifacts
from history.

Thomas Point Shoal Light:


Thomas Point Shoal Light is a place that
stands out to me because from what I
see, it is a huge-above ground
lighthouse. I chose this place for the
reason that this lighthouse is very different
from the ones that I have seen. It is the
only screw-pile lighthouse in the bay. It
was constructed in 1825 and built with
stone.

MASSACHUSETTS
Cape Ann Light Station:

Xfinity Center:
I chose this place for the reason that it was
very significant in the dangers of sailing.
Cape Ann Light Station was established in
1771 making it the last founded in the
colonial era. These lighthouses were the
very first lighthouses to mark a navigational
hazard. They are aligned on a north-south
axis and helped speed up transportation.

The Xfinity center is an outdoor


amphitheater. This destination stands
out to me as a place that Id visit
because it is owned by the Comcast
Corporation. I have Xfinity and Im very
pleased with everything it offers. This
amphitheater opened in 1986 and was
sold to Comcast in 2007 after the
owner faced bankruptcy.

MICHIGAN

Comerica Park:

Fisher Building:
The Fisher Building is a
skyscraper that was
built in 1927. I chose
this destination for the
reason that I am
fascinated by
skyscrapers;especiall
y being in them. The
Fisher Building is a
major commercial
building in the U.S. The
building was originally
made out of goldengilded tiles which
were removed during
World War II due to
fears of danger.

Comerica Park stands out to me as a


place that Id like to visit because I
personally like baseball.and soccer.
This stadium seats 41,681 people. It is
the home of the Detroit Tigers of
Major League Baseball. I chose this
destination for the reason that it is
known as the most hitter-friendly
parks in baseball.

MINNESOTA
Hull-Rust-Mahoning Open Pit Iron
Mine:
Nickelodeon Universe:

I chose to visit this place for the reason that it


is known as the worlds larges open pit iron
mine. United States receives as much as oneforth of all the iron ore from this place during
World War I and II. Ore shipment began in
1895 and the mine still operates till this day.
Over the years, the mine expanded causing
towns to be relocated to accommodate
expansion.

Nickelodeon Universe is a destination that stands


out to me as a place that Id like to visit because
I have never been to a Nickelodeon amusement
park; just Disney. This amusement park is a seven
acre indoor amusement park that is located in a
mall. It futures tons of attractions that are
specifically themed for Nickelodeon characters. I
chose to visit this place for the reason that it
would be fun to experience a Nickelodeon
amusement park because I've only been to a
Disney one before.

MISSISSIPPI
Beauvoir:
The Beauvoir is a post-war home
and library. It belongs to the
Confederate President Jefferson
Davis. I chose this place for the
reason that its important in history.
This structure was built in 1848 and
was damaged by Hurricane
Katrina in 2005; it was recently
restored. This place is currently a
museum and library.

Tupelo Automobile Museum:


This destination stands out to me as a place
that Id like to visit because I am really
fascinated with all types of cars. I particularly
chose this place for the reason that it displays
all types of cars dating back to 1869. This
museum has over one hundred cars on display.
The cars at this place range from antique, rare,
and celebrity.

Gateway Arch:

MISSOURI
Eads Bridge:
The Eads Bridge is a steel bridge
that was built in 1874. I chose this
destination for the reason that it
was a significant factor to the
growth of a industry. This bridge
was used to connect railroads
running westward to Missouri. It
also connected railroads running
eastward to Illinois.

This destination stands out to me as a place that Id


like to visit because its eye-catching. I chose this
place because its unique in a way. I love sight seeing
and experiencing new things. The Gateway Arch us
a 639 foot tall monument. It was built with stainless
steel. It is known as the tallest man-made monument.
It was built as a monument to the westward
expansion.

MONTANA

Kerr Dam:

Rankin Ranch:

I chose this location for the reason that it is


the house of the first women elected.
Jeanette Rankin Rankin was elected to the
U.S. House of Representatives. She served
two terms. She was also the only member
to resist the declaration of war against
Japan in 1941.

Kerr Dam is a massive concrete gravity-arch


dam. This dam opened in 1938. I chose this
destination for the reason that its amazing to
see these sorts of things. Therefore, this location
stands out as a place that I'd like to visit. During
construction of the Kerr Dam, the Great
Depression caused construction to halt for five
years.

NEBRASKA
Robidoux Pass:

Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium:


I chose this place for the reason of its
importance in history. This pass was part
of the Oregon Trail. It was active from
1848 through 1851. Many goods were
transported through this pass.

This zoo and aquarium is a location that


stands out to me as a place that Id like to
visit because it was very eye-catching and I
like seeing animals. I chose this specific
aquarium out of the many for the reason
that it is a full wrap around glass that you
walk through. This zoo and aquarium
opened in 1894 and currently holds tons of
worldwide animals.

NEVADA
Fort Ruby:
Fort Ruby was constructed during
the Civil War. I chose this
destination for the reason that it
was constructed for purpose to
protect. This fort protected the links
between the Union and California.
It was constructed in 1862.
However, this fort was almost
completely burned in a fire in 1992.

Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay:

I chose this place for the reason that it stood


out to me. This aquarium is known as the worlds
largest. Its main tank capacity is 1,300,000
gallons of water. It is located in Las Vegas and
opened in 2000. This aquarium displays
numerous different species of sharks, rays, fish,
etc. Also at this place is a shark tunnel.

NEW HAMPSHIRE
Josiah Bartlett House:
I chose to visit this location for the
reason that it is the home of a
New Hampshire politician. This
politician, by the name of Josiah
Bartlett, was a signer of the
Declaration of Independence. He
also served as one of New
Hampshire's representatives to
the Continental Congress. His
house was built in 1774.

Santa's Village:
This destination stands out to me
as a place that Id like to visit
because I grew up believing in
Santa Clause. I chose to visit this
destination to simply revive my
beliefs of an actual Santa Clause.
This place is sort of an amusement
park because it contains
Christmas themed rides and other
attractions. The purpose of this
place is to create something to
novel ones region.

NEW JERSEY

Jersey Shore:

Hinchliffe Stadium:
The Hinchliffe Stadium is a 1930s
era baseball stadium. I chose to
visit this particular destination for
the reason that it is somewhat
different from a normal baseball
field. It was used to play Negro
League baseball during the Jim
Crow times. This stadium was built
in 1932 and futures only 10,000
seats.

I chose to visit Jersey Shore for the reason


that it is alive. Jersey Shore encompasses
about 127 miles of oceanfront. Along the
long stretch of oceanfront, one could
find many shops, piers, boardwalks, rides,
water parks, beaches, etc. New Jersey
residents refer to it as The Shore.

NEW MEXICO
Palace of the Governors:

The Palace of the Governors served as the


seat of government in New Mexico. I
chose to visit this place due to the reason
that it was significant in New Mexico's
formation. This adobe structure was
constructed in 1610. It is known as the
oldest occupied public structure in the U.S.

Sandia Peak Tramway:


Sandia Peak
Tramway stands out
as a place that Id
like to visit because
I love adventures. I
chose this particular
destination
because it has the
worlds third longest
single span. This
tramway is known
as the most difficult
tramway
constructed in
history. The ride
futures amazing
sights of nature.

NEW YORK

Times Square:

Statue of Liberty:
I chose to visit the statue
of liberty for the reason
that it represents
freedom and welcomes
immigrants into the U.S.
Visitors are allowed to
ascend to the crown of
this statue. This statue
was constructed in
France and shipped to
the U.S. in crates where it
was put together. This
monument was
specifically raised to
American
independence.

Times Square stands out to me as a place


that Id like to visit because it is known as
the worlds major commercial intersection
and neighborhood. I chose this location
for the reason that its also very lively. Times
Square is one of the worlds major visited
tourist attractions. In Times Square are lots
of shops, entertainment, etc. About
330,000 people pass through Times Square
daily.

NORTH CAROLINA
Guilford Courthouse
Battlefield:

The Guilford Courthouse Battlefield is a


partially preserved site of an American
Revolutionary War. I chose this location due
to the reason that it is significant in history. It
is the site of the Battle of Guilford Court
House. This battle was fought on March 15,
1781 and it opened the campaign that led
to victory in the Revolutionary War.

Ghost Town in the Sky:


This destination stands out to me due to the
reason that it is an amusement park. All
amusement parks have different themes; this
particular one is unique; it is Wild West-themed.
This park is a bit unusual for the reason that it is
located on top of a hill. Visitors can only access
it by riding a 3,370 foot long chair lift. This park is
known as the Ghost Town and has many
different ghostly attractions.

NORTH DAKOTA
Fort Union Trading Post:

I chose to visit this place because of


its importance. This Fort is known as
the most important fur trading post
until 1867. It is located on the upper
Missouri. It developed the fur trade
in Montana and was built in 1828.
Many tribes traded fur and other
good at this fort.

Fort Lincoln Trolley:


This destinations stands out to me as a
place that Id like to visit because I think
it would be cool to get a taste of the
1890s and 1920s. This trolley is a restored
1890s streetcar. This trolley takes people
on a nine mile railroad trip to Fort Lincoln
State Park.

OHIO
Donald B (towboat):
The Donald B towboat was
build in 1923. I chose to visit
this destination for the reason
that it is the only 1920s diesel
stern wheel towboat left in
the U.S. This towboat still
operates til this day. It was
mainly used to transport
goods and people.

Soak City:
Soak City is a water park. This particular
destination stands out to me as a place
that Id like to visit because I love getting
wet and playing in/with water. This park
futures ten water slides, a wave pool,
various interactive water elements, etc. It
also has a swim up refreshment center
which is pretty cool in my opinion. This
places opened in 1988 and is still currently
opened.

OKLAHOMA

Washita Battlefield:
I chose to visit Washita Battlefield for
the reason that it was significant in
history. This is the site where George
Custer led the seventh cavalry
surprise attack. The attack was on
the village of Cheyenne Chief Black
Kettle. This attack took place in 1868.
The purpose of this attack was to
reduce Indian raids on frontier
settlements.

Oklahoma History Center:


The Oklahoma History Center is a history
museum. This place stands out to me as a
place Id like to visit because I like
learning about history. Inside this museum
is many galleries and exhibits. It also
displays many replicas of planes, ships,
cars, etc.

OREGON

Lan Su Chinese Garden:

Pioneer Courthouse:

The Pioneer Courthouse was built in 1875


and was fully restored in the 2000s. I chose
to visit this place mainly because many
decisions were made at this site. This
building was one of the first monumental
building in the pacific. It served as a U.S.
courthouse, customhouse, and post
office.

I chose to visit this destination for the reason that I


like getting a taste of other cultures. This place
stands out to me as a place that Id like to visit
because its almost an exact replica of a garden in
China. This garden is influenced by many famous
gardens in Suzhou. It is known as the Garden of
Awakening Orchids. Most of the materials used to
build this garden were imported from China.

PENNSYLVANIA
Washington's Crossing:
This is the location preserves the site
where George Washington's crossing
of the Delaware River. I chose to visit
this place for the reason that it is
significant to know how we became
who we are today. Washington
crossed the Delaware River to surprise
attack the British at Trenton. This took
place in 1776.

Gettysburg Battlefield:
The Gettysburg Battlefield is the area at witch
the Battle of Gettysburg took place. This
destination stands out to me as a place that
Id like to visit because it would be cool to
experience seeing it for real. I chose this
place for the reason that I learned about it in
school. The Battle of Gettysburg took place in
1863. This battle is often described as the
wars turning point.

RHODE ISLAND

Water Fire:

Fort Adams:
This is a site of reinforcement since
1799. I chose this place for the reason
of its importance in history. This fort was
the principal defense site for
Narragansett Bay. Mounted on this fort
are 17 cannons. It commander,
Captain John Henry, is accused in
starting the War of 1812.

Water Fire is an award winning sculpture


that was made by Barnaby Evans. I chose
to visit this particular destination because
its fascinating to see such cool things. The
purpose of this art is to celebrate the tenth
anniversary of First Night providence.
Water Fire consists of several bonfires that
burn just above the surface of the river
that passes through downtown.

SOUTH CAROLINA

Fort Sumter:

Mulberry Plantation:

The Mulberry Plantation is the home of Mary


Boykin Chesnut. I chose this particular
destination for the reason that it is mentioned in
Marys diary she wrote. She wrote a Civil War
diary describing southern society and culture.
Her diary is known as the most significant piece
of Confederate literature.

Fort Sumter is a destination that stands out to


me as a place that Id like to visit because it is
the place were the first shots that started the
American Civil War were fired. This fort is a
third system masonry sea fort. The Battle of
Fort Sumter too place on April 12th, 1861. I
chose this destination because I felt it would
be interesting to see the American Civil War
origins.

SOUTH DAKOTA
Crow Creek Site:
The Crow Cree Site is the site of
a prehistoric Native American
massacre. This massacre took
place in 1325 AD. This
massacre occurred between
two Indian groups.
Archeologists found many
human bones at the site. They
found remains of at least 486
Crow Creek villagers.

Reptile Gardens:
Reptile Gardens is a animal park. This
destination stands out to me as a place
that Id like to visit because I somewhat like
certain reptiles. This place opened in 1937
and went through some difficult times
during World War II. Also, the sky dome at
Reptile Gardens was damaged due to a
fire. One could find many exhibits at this
place and become educated on the
many animals they have.

TENNESSEE
Franklin Battlefield:
The Franklin Battlefield is were the Civil
War Battle of Franklin took place on
November 30th, 1864. I chose this place
for the reason that it was significant to
Tennessee's history. General John
Schofields Union troops kept away
repeated assaults from Confederate
forces. The Confederate forces were
led by General John Hood.

Sunsphere:
The Sunsphere is a
high hexagonal steel
structure that is
topped with a gold
colored glass sphere.
This attraction stands
out as a place that
Id like to visit
because I absolutely
love seeing
attractions like these.
I chose this place for
the reason that it is
eye-catching. This
structure serves as a
symbol of the 1982
Worlds Fair. This
tower serves as a
restaurant that has its
own signature meals;
it was built in 1982.

TEXAS
Alamo:
The Alamo use to be a former mission
and fortress compound before it
became a museum. I chose this place
because it was significant in the history
of Texas. This building was built by the
Spanish Empire in the 18th century. It is
the site where the Battle of the Alamo
took place.

San Antonio River Walk:


The San Antonio River Walk is a network
of walkways on the banks of a river. This
destination stands out as a place that
Id love to visit because I love walking
and the outdoors. I chose this place for
the reason that it is very lively and
entertaining. It is lined by bars, shops,
restaurants, entertainment, etc.

UTAH
Fort Douglas:

Fort Douglas was established in the 1860s. I


chose the particular place for the reason that
it shaped how things are today. Fort Douglas
was built to uphold United States authority in
the Mormon territories. It was also built the
protect overland transportation and
communication routes.

Salt Lake Tabernacle:

The Salt Lake Tabernacle is known


as the Mormon Tabernacle. Even
though I'm not Mormon, this place
stands out to me as a place that Id
like to visit because I believe in
God. I chose this place for the
reason that I have never seen such
an amazing tabernacle in my life.
This tabernacle is dome shaped
and has many architectural
features; it was built in 1870s.

VERMONT
Emma Willard House:
The Emma Willard house is the home
of Emma Willard. I chose to visit this
place for the reason that Emma
Willard helped women gain rights. She
was an influential pioneer who had
many developments. Among her
developments are of women's
education in the United States. A
school for girls specifically was held at
her home in 1814.

Ascutney Mountain Resort:


The Ascutney Mountain Resort is a Ski
area/resort. This location stands out to
me as a place that Id like to visit
because I personally love the snow
and skiing. It opened in the winter of
1946. This mountain/resort features
many rigorous ski trails for one to have
fun on. I chose this place for the
reason that Im interested in skiing
here.

VIRGINIA
Franklin and Armfield Office:
I chose this place for
the reason that it
was important in
history. The Franklin
and Armfield Office
was known to be the
largest slave trading
firm in 1828. It was
located in the
antebellum South.
The property was
then used to
imprison
Confederate
soldiers. After that, it
was converted into
a hospital from 18781885.

Busch Gardens Williamsburg:


Busch Gardens Williamsburg is a 383
acre theme park that hosts lots of
entertainment, rides, attractions, etc.
This place stands out to me as a place
that Id like to visit because I enjoy
theme parks. This park opened on May
16, 1975. It is owned by AnheuserBusch brewery.

WASHINGTON

The White House:


I chose to visit the white house for the reason
that it is the official residence and principal
workplace of the President of the U.S. The White
House has been the house of every president
since John Adams in 1800s. It was built in the
1800s out of sandstone. During the War of 1812,
the White House was set ablaze by the British
Army. Currently living in the White House is
President Barack Obama.

United States Holocaust Memorial


Museum:

The U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum is the United


States official memorial to the Holocaust. This
place stands out as a place that Id like to visit
because Id like to further my knowledge of the
Holocaust. This museum provides documentation,
study, and interpretation of the Holocaust era.
The purpose of this museum is to help everyone
confront hatred, prevent genocide, raise
awareness to human dignity, etc. This place was
established in 1993.

WEST VIRGINIA

New River Gorge Bridge:

Andrews Methodist Episcopal


Church:
I chose this particular
place for the reason that
it is were a certain holiday
was started. The Mothers
Day holiday was started
here at Andrews
Methodist Episcopal
Church. This holiday is
celebrated
internationally. Andrews
Methodist Episcopal
Church was constructed
in 1873. It is known as the
international Mothers Day
Shrine.

This destination stands out to


me as a place that Id like to
visit because I like
visiting/seeing attractions like
these. I chose this place for the
reason that it is a 3,030 foot
long bridge. It hovers over the
New River Gorge. This bridge
was constructed in 1977 and it
helped boost transportation.

WISCONSIN

Astor Fur Warehouse:


I chose to visit this place for the reason that
it goods were traded here back in 1828.
This building is known as the only surviving
fur trade warehouse. It was significant for its
use by the American Fur Company. It is
now part of a museum and is furnished for
a mid 19th century appearance.

Circus World Museum:


Circus World Museum is a large circus
styled museum. It is devoted to circus
related history. This destination stands
out as a place that Id like to visit
because I think its time to conquer
my childhood fears. I chose this
place for the reason that I was
scared of circus things when I was a
child; I dont think I am anymore. This
museum hosts daily live circus
performances and was built in 1884.

WYOMING
South Pass:
The South Pass was the easiest
crossing point of the
Continental divide. It was
most significant during the 19th
century. I chose to visit this
place due to the reason of its
significance to trade. It served
the pioneers, fur traders,
miners, etc. The access it
offered greatly strengthened
the U.S. claim to the region.

Mystic Falls:
The Mystic Falls is a 70 foot
cascade style waterfall. This
location stands out to me as a
place that Id like to visit
because I love the outdoors,
exploring, and spending time
near these kinds of sights. This
water fall is a tributary of the
Firehole River.
