ALABAMA
USS Alabama (battleship):
This battleship is named after
the state of Alabama. I chose
USS Alabama for the reason
that it spent forty months in
service in World War II. It was
specially made in 1942. USS
Alabama is one of the two
surviving South Dakota-class
battleships. This battleship
now serves as a museum that
is open to the public.
ALASKA
Old Sitka:
The Old Sitka was established in
1799 and demolished by Tlingit
attacks in 1802. I chose Old Sitka
for the reason that it was the site
of a Russian American Company
settlement. The settlement was
known as Redoubt St. Archangel
Michael. This settlement was the
first non-Native settlement on
Baranof Island.
ARIZONA
Titan Missile Museum:
I chose to visit this place for the
reason that it showcases dramatic
remnants of the Cold War. At this
place, visitors could stand on the
front line of the Cold War. The
Titan Missile Museum provides
education on the history of
nuclear conflict between the U.S.
and former Soviet Union. It was
also a missile site in the U.S.
Grand Canyon:
The Grand Canyon stands out to
me as a place that I would want
to visit. It withholds many amazing
sights. I chose this place for the
reason that I personally love the
outdoors. The Ancient Puebloans
were the first people known to
discover the Grand Canyon. It is
277 miles in length and 6,000 feet
deep.
ARKANSAS
Rohwer War Relocation Center:
I chose to visit the
Rohwer War Relocation
Center for the reason
that is was a World War II
Japanese American
interment camp. I feel as
if it would be interesting
to visit places like this to
gain knowledge on its
history. The relocation
center held as many as
8,475 Japanese
Americans that were
forcibly evacuated from
California. This took
place from September
18th, 1942 until
November 30th, 1945.
CALIFORNIA
Alcatraz Island:
I chose to visit Alcatraz Island
for the reason that it has tons
of history behind it. Alcatraz
housed some of Americas
dangerous felons from 1934
to 1963. No felon ever tried to
escape this prison for the
reason that it was surrounded
by water. Alcatraz was also
the site of a U.S. Military prison
from 1850 through 1933. It
was shutdown due to high
operational costs.
Disneyland:
Disneyland stands out to me as
a place that I would like to visit
for the reason that it is known as
the happiest place on earth. I
chose to visit this place
because again, I love
amusement parks. Disneyland
features many rides and lots of
places to shop. Overall, its an
enjoyable place.
COLORADO
Central City/Black Hawk Historic
District:
I chose to visit this
place for the
reason that it is
known as the
richest Square
Mile on Earth. This
place features
former gold mining
camps in the Front
Range of the
Rocky Mountains.
John H. Gregory
had discovered
the first rich deposit
of gold rock here.
Pepsi Center:
The Pepsi Center stands out to me
as a place that I would love to visit
because I love Pepsi and sports.
Everyone knows that Pepsi is better
than Coke. I chose this place for the
reason that this center is a
multipurpose sports arena. It is home
to the Denver Nuggets of the
National Basketball Association.
CONNECTICUT
Tapping Reeve House and Law
School:
I chose to visit this place for the reason
that it is the first law school in the
United States. I am also interested in
going to law school. This school is
separate from a college or university.
Currently, this school is open to the
public as a museum. It was founded in
1773.
DELAWARE
Fort Christina:
I chose this place for the reason that
its interesting to learn about its
history. This fort was the first
settlement of the New Sweden
colony. It was build in 1638 and
named after the Queen of Sweden,
Christina. It is now preserved as Fort
Christina State Park with The Fort
Christina monument on site.
FLORIDA
British Fort:
I chose this place for the reason
that I thought it would be
interesting to see the ruins of
what was a fort. This fort was
built during the war of 1812. It
was occupied by runaway
slaves and many Indians.
Towards the end of the war,
British Fort was demolished by a
massive explosion. Nothing
remains of British Fort.
GEORGIA
Fort James Jackson:
Fort James Jackson was
built in the period 18081812. I chose this
destination for the reason
that its architectural
designs were eyecatching. This fort was
used by the Confederacy
and defended Savannah
and its harbor. Fort James
Jackson, in 1862,
withstood a minor union
attack.
CNN Center:
The CNN Center stands out to
me as a place that Id like to visit
because whenever Im watching
TV, Im watching CNN or other
news channels. This destination is
the world headquarters of CNN.
People film many of CNNs news
channels in the newsrooms or
studios located in this center. It
first opened in 1976.
HAWAII
Pearl Harbor:
I chose this destination for the
reason that the attack on Pearl
Harbor was significant in history.
The attack on Pearl Harbor was a
surprise attack lead by the
Japanese Navy. This attack took
place on December 7th, 1941. It
led the United States into the entry
of World War II.
Byodo-In Temple:
This destination stands out to me as a
place that Id like to visit because I
have never been to a Temple before.
It was founded in 1968. This Temple is a
replica of a 900 year old Buddhist
Temple at Uji in Kyoto prefecture of
Japan. Inside this temple is a nine-foot
statue of the Lotus Buddha.
IDAHO
Assay Office:
I chose this destination for the
reason that it is significant in
Idaho's history. This office
symbolizes the important factors of
mining in the history of Idaho. Also
the American West. The Assay
Office was operated by the
federal government and was built
in 1870.
Shoshone Falls:
Shoshone Falls is a beautiful waterfall located
on the Snake River in Idaho. This destination
stands out to me as a place that Id like to
visit because I love the outdoors. I chose this
place because it has existed at least since
the end of the last ice age. Some people
have attempted to jump Shoshone Falls.
ILLINOIS
Eads Bridge:
Eads Bridge was completed
in 1874. I chose this
destination for the reason
that it is known as the
longest arch bridge in the
world. It consists of a
combined road and railway
bridge . It extends into St.
Louis, Missouri. It boosted
trade back then.
INDIANA
Cannelton Cotton Mill:
I chose this place for the reason
that it was important back in the
days. This Mill produced more
than 200,000 pounds of cotton.
It was once the largest industrial
building in the United States. This
Mill also brought tons of business
and employed many during its
operation from 1851-1900s.
Indianapolis 500:
This destination stands out to me as a place that Id
like to visit because I have a hobby for cars. The
Indianapolis 500 is a 500 mile race that is held
annually. It takes drivers 200 laps to complete the
500 mile race. The first race was in 1911 and is still
being continued till this day. Races are held on
Memorial Day of every year.
IOWA
Snake Alley:
This destination stands out to me as a
place that Id like to visit because it is
known as the crookedest street in the
world. This alley provides a shortcut
from Heritage Hill to the business
district. Because of its crookedness, it
is only a one way path because
people would fall down trying to go
up it.
KANSAS
Fort Scott:
I chose this destination for the reason
that it was involved in the Civil War. Fort
Scott was established in 1842. It served
as a Civil War garrison. This fort was also
a major central point of black troop
activity and trainings. It was later
abounded in1853 and became a
historical site.
KENTUCKY
Belle of Louisville:
Built in 1914, I chose
to visit this site for the
reason that it is one
of the last
steamboats in
existence. This
steamboat hauled
cargo such as
cotton, lumber, grain,
etc. This boat served
many purposes such
as being a nightclub
for troops stationed
at military bases; it
now serves as a
museum.
LOUISIANA
Fort Jesup:
Fort Jesup was built to help protect
the boarder dividing American and
Spanish territories in 1822. I chose to
visit this destination for the reason that
it was significant in Louisiana's history.
This fort was controlled by president
Zachary Taylor who commanded
soldiers to monitor Texas as it passed
from Mexican control.
MAINE
Fort Knox:
I chose to visit Fort Knox for the reason that
it was built for a good purpose. It was built
during the aftermath of the 1830s border
disputes. What's cool is that this fort was
built from granite. Also, this fort is a fine mid
19th century reinforcement.
Palace Playland:
Palace Playland stands out to me as a
place that Id like to visit because it is one
of the older amusement parks. This
amusement park was built and had been
operating since 1902. Through out the
years, Palace Playland has nearly
quintupled its attractions.
MARYLAND
Baltimore and Ohio Transportation
Museum and Mount Clare Station:
The Baltimore and Ohio
Transportation Museum
and Mount Clare Station
was built in 1884. I chose
to visit this location for
the reason that it holds
many historical novels
and goods for one to
see about the railroads.
It also showcases actual
trains that were used.
This place futures 250
pieces of railroad rolling
stock, and many other
collections of artifacts
from history.
MASSACHUSETTS
Cape Ann Light Station:
Xfinity Center:
I chose this place for the reason that it was
very significant in the dangers of sailing.
Cape Ann Light Station was established in
1771 making it the last founded in the
colonial era. These lighthouses were the
very first lighthouses to mark a navigational
hazard. They are aligned on a north-south
axis and helped speed up transportation.
MICHIGAN
Comerica Park:
Fisher Building:
The Fisher Building is a
skyscraper that was
built in 1927. I chose
this destination for the
reason that I am
fascinated by
skyscrapers;especiall
y being in them. The
Fisher Building is a
major commercial
building in the U.S. The
building was originally
made out of goldengilded tiles which
were removed during
World War II due to
fears of danger.
MINNESOTA
Hull-Rust-Mahoning Open Pit Iron
Mine:
Nickelodeon Universe:
MISSISSIPPI
Beauvoir:
The Beauvoir is a post-war home
and library. It belongs to the
Confederate President Jefferson
Davis. I chose this place for the
reason that its important in history.
This structure was built in 1848 and
was damaged by Hurricane
Katrina in 2005; it was recently
restored. This place is currently a
museum and library.
Gateway Arch:
MISSOURI
Eads Bridge:
The Eads Bridge is a steel bridge
that was built in 1874. I chose this
destination for the reason that it
was a significant factor to the
growth of a industry. This bridge
was used to connect railroads
running westward to Missouri. It
also connected railroads running
eastward to Illinois.
MONTANA

Robidoux Pass:
NEVADA
Fort Ruby:
Fort Ruby was constructed during
the Civil War. I chose this
destination for the reason that it
was constructed for purpose to
protect. This fort protected the links
between the Union and California.
It was constructed in 1862.
However, this fort was almost
completely burned in a fire in 1992.
NEW HAMPSHIRE
Josiah Bartlett House:
I chose to visit this location for the
reason that it is the home of a
New Hampshire politician. This
politician, by the name of Josiah
Bartlett, was a signer of the
Declaration of Independence. He
also served as one of New
Hampshire's representatives to
the Continental Congress. His
house was built in 1774.
Santa's Village:
This destination stands out to me
as a place that Id like to visit
because I grew up believing in
Santa Clause. I chose to visit this
destination to simply revive my
beliefs of an actual Santa Clause.
This place is sort of an amusement
park because it contains
Christmas themed rides and other
attractions. The purpose of this
place is to create something to
novel ones region.
NEW JERSEY
Jersey Shore:
Hinchliffe Stadium:
The Hinchliffe Stadium is a 1930s
era baseball stadium. I chose to
visit this particular destination for
the reason that it is somewhat
different from a normal baseball
field. It was used to play Negro
League baseball during the Jim
Crow times. This stadium was built
in 1932 and futures only 10,000
seats.
NEW MEXICO
Palace of the Governors:
NEW YORK
Times Square:
Statue of Liberty:
I chose to visit the statue
of liberty for the reason
that it represents
freedom and welcomes
immigrants into the U.S.
Visitors are allowed to
ascend to the crown of
this statue. This statue
was constructed in
France and shipped to
the U.S. in crates where it
was put together. This
monument was
specifically raised to
American
independence.

Fort Union Trading Post:
OHIO
Donald B (towboat):
The Donald B towboat was
build in 1923. I chose to visit
this destination for the reason
that it is the only 1920s diesel
stern wheel towboat left in
the U.S. This towboat still
operates til this day. It was
mainly used to transport
goods and people.
Soak City:
Soak City is a water park. This particular
destination stands out to me as a place
that Id like to visit because I love getting
wet and playing in/with water. This park
futures ten water slides, a wave pool,
various interactive water elements, etc. It
also has a swim up refreshment center
which is pretty cool in my opinion. This
places opened in 1988 and is still currently
opened.
OKLAHOMA
Washita Battlefield:
I chose to visit Washita Battlefield for
the reason that it was significant in
history. This is the site where George
Custer led the seventh cavalry
surprise attack. The attack was on
the village of Cheyenne Chief Black
Kettle. This attack took place in 1868.
The purpose of this attack was to
reduce Indian raids on frontier
settlements.
OREGON
Pioneer Courthouse:
PENNSYLVANIA
Washington's Crossing:
This is the location preserves the site
where George Washington's crossing
of the Delaware River. I chose to visit
this place for the reason that it is
significant to know how we became
who we are today. Washington
crossed the Delaware River to surprise
attack the British at Trenton. This took
place in 1776.
Gettysburg Battlefield:
The Gettysburg Battlefield is the area at witch
the Battle of Gettysburg took place. This
destination stands out to me as a place that
Id like to visit because it would be cool to
experience seeing it for real. I chose this
place for the reason that I learned about it in
school. The Battle of Gettysburg took place in
1863. This battle is often described as the
wars turning point.
RHODE ISLAND
Water Fire:
Fort Adams:
This is a site of reinforcement since
1799. I chose this place for the reason
of its importance in history. This fort was
the principal defense site for
Narragansett Bay. Mounted on this fort
are 17 cannons. It commander,
Captain John Henry, is accused in
starting the War of 1812.
SOUTH CAROLINA
Fort Sumter:
Mulberry Plantation:
SOUTH DAKOTA
Crow Creek Site:
The Crow Cree Site is the site of
a prehistoric Native American
massacre. This massacre took
place in 1325 AD. This
massacre occurred between
two Indian groups.
Archeologists found many
human bones at the site. They
found remains of at least 486
Crow Creek villagers.
Reptile Gardens:
Reptile Gardens is a animal park. This
destination stands out to me as a place
that Id like to visit because I somewhat like
certain reptiles. This place opened in 1937
and went through some difficult times
during World War II. Also, the sky dome at
Reptile Gardens was damaged due to a
fire. One could find many exhibits at this
place and become educated on the
many animals they have.
TENNESSEE
Franklin Battlefield:
The Franklin Battlefield is were the Civil
War Battle of Franklin took place on
November 30th, 1864. I chose this place
for the reason that it was significant to
Tennessee's history. General John
Schofields Union troops kept away
repeated assaults from Confederate
forces. The Confederate forces were
led by General John Hood.
Sunsphere:
The Sunsphere is a
high hexagonal steel
structure that is
topped with a gold
colored glass sphere.
This attraction stands
out as a place that
Id like to visit
because I absolutely
love seeing
attractions like these.
I chose this place for
the reason that it is
eye-catching. This
structure serves as a
symbol of the 1982
Worlds Fair. This
tower serves as a
restaurant that has its
own signature meals;
it was built in 1982.
TEXAS
Alamo:
The Alamo use to be a former mission
and fortress compound before it
became a museum. I chose this place
because it was significant in the history
of Texas. This building was built by the
Spanish Empire in the 18th century. It is
the site where the Battle of the Alamo
took place.
UTAH

Emma Willard House:
The Emma Willard house is the home
of Emma Willard. I chose to visit this
place for the reason that Emma
Willard helped women gain rights. She
was an influential pioneer who had
many developments. Among her
developments are of women's
education in the United States. A
school for girls specifically was held at
her home in 1814.
VIRGINIA
Franklin and Armfield Office:
I chose this place for
the reason that it
was important in
history. The Franklin
and Armfield Office
was known to be the
largest slave trading
firm in 1828. It was
located in the
antebellum South.
The property was
then used to
imprison
Confederate
soldiers. After that, it
was converted into
a hospital from 18781885.
WASHINGTON
WEST VIRGINIA
WISCONSIN
WYOMING
South Pass:
The South Pass was the easiest
crossing point of the
Continental divide. It was
most significant during the 19th
century. I chose to visit this
place due to the reason of its
significance to trade. It served
the pioneers, fur traders,
miners, etc. The access it
offered greatly strengthened
the U.S. claim to the region.
Mystic Falls:
The Mystic Falls is a 70 foot
cascade style waterfall. This
location stands out to me as a
place that Id like to visit
because I love the outdoors,
exploring, and spending time
near these kinds of sights. This
water fall is a tributary of the
Firehole River.
