Post-Intervention Data
To earn UTZ Certification, teachers need to have proficient
or advanced in all rubric rows for two rubrics. Figure 1 shows
the number of UTZ certified teachers at the beginning of the
year and Figure 2 shows the increase once the intervention
was implemented (there are a total of 29 participants).

UTZ has allowed me to take behvaioral and academic

expectations to a level that I did not expect to reach in my
third year of teaching. UTZ creates a learning space where
constant criticial thinking, active listening, and joy can
occur every second of everyday in my classroom.

The UTZ techniques that I have learned and implemented
have changed the tone of my classroom. Many simple, but
very effective repertoire moves have motivated my
students to be urgent, determined, and most of all, joyful
during classes.
