Teaching Philosophy
When I was in third grade I wanted
to become a teacher. I have always been
excited about school from a very young age.
I would become upset when we missed
school because of a snow day. My drive for
teaching stems from my own curiosity to
learn new things and to see a childs face
light up after they have learned something
new. I hope that my students see these
qualities in me and want to use them to help
themselves and their classmates.
My teaching philosophy focuses on
the students understanding that anyone
can learn. I want my students to
understand that everyone learns differently
and because of that we are able to be
connected to one another in order to learn
something new from each other. I want my
students to understand as they grow as
learners, they will be able to learn from each
other as well as teach each other. This will
help create a community inside our
classroom.
Another important aspect of my
teaching philosophy is for my students to
feel safe, honored, loved, and that the
classroom is not only mine but theirs as
well. I want my students to feel comfortable
learning and not be afraid to make mistakes.

In My Classroom

Teaching Experiences

Each student has different needs that need

to be met in order for them to be successful
learners. By using differentiation in my
classroom, the students will be able to learn
the information in a way that is conducive to
their individual needs. This works very well
because it gives the students who may be
struggling more instructional support and
those who may be gifted more opportunities
to grow in other ways independently. This is
where my conversational Spanish will help me
communicate with my students.

Differentiation

Technology/Hands on
Learning
In many of my lessons there is technology
being used. I feel its important for the
students to be familiar with how technology
can help their learning. Using hands on
materials is very beneficial to students
especially those who are kinesthetic learners.
They are able to see and touch different
manipulatives that can help them connect to
the content they are learning.

Reading
My students will be actively reading
throughout the day. This can happen in many
different ways. I can be reading to them, they
can be reading with a buddy, reading to self or
listening to reading. Reading is a very
important foundation for the rest of the
learning that takes place during the day.
