Survey Reflection
Overall I received a total of 14 responses from the survey that I gave. The responses I
received from the surveys given out were very similar. Everybody seemed to belief the same
thing that preserving the environment was an important aspect of human existence. The
respondents all appeared to have been in the outdoors for some amount of time and even if they
did not spend time outdoors they still believed that public and wilderness areas of land should
remain so. Except for one bad apple.
Not many people seemed to be that concerned with national issues, which surprised me to
an extent. But when it came to their concern about the environment the numbers went up
significantly. Except for that one bad egg again. The reaction to opening up public lands for
development was a resounding no throughout the majority of the responses with a couple
taking both sides of the argument.
The overall results from the surveys did not change my mind at all on which topic I
decided to choose. It also did not refine my topic in anyway. But the input was helpful to gauge
the overall interest and concern in my audience about the topic I am going to research about.
Overall the survey gave me a good view of what everybody believed in, in terms of the
environment, their uses of the spaces, and how we should use them.
