Marianne Korosy Important Bird Area Coordinator Audubon Florida PO 12407 33733-2407 St. Petersburg - FL - US
Dear Marianne Korosy:
I found the Anchor Steward for Indian Shores Beach job posting on your careers website and I am strongly interested in applying for this position. I believe my coursework, volunteering experiences and great passion for birds and wildlife conservation will give me a solid foundation for successfully carrying out the essential duties of the Indian Shores Anchor Steward. With its illustrious history and familiar reputation in conservation, especially in Florida, working for the Audubon Society would be a true honor. Conservation practices are growing in necessity from the everincreasing threat of climate change, and being a part of the solution by helping to monitor nesting birds would be immensely fulfilling and inspiring. My coursework in environmental sciences, especially in biology, zoology, and wildlife identification, provided me with knowledge of ecological systems, while volunteering with Coastal Cleanup and Croc Encounters as well as the Outdoor Experience course have given me some skill with physical work. I also have experience working with people and excellent skills in writing and communication from my current internship, working in customer service, volunteering with children, and from other coursework, which would help in the public outreach and volunteer recruitment aspects of the job. In addition, I can bring some skill with GIS software to possibly supplement the Florida Shorebird Database with point mapping of nest sites. For more information on my coursework or skills, my rsum is enclosed for your reference. I am requesting an interview to discuss the position in greater detail and review how my qualifications meet your needs. You may contact me by phone at 813-675-7322, or email at leah.adkins@live.com. Thank you for your valued time and consideration.
