Conclusion

In our experiment 301, we did not encounter any complication and


disagreement regarding the process of the experiment. The only disadvantage
we had was the time required in boiling the water. Other than that, our
experiment was successful.
The intent of the experiment was to obtain the coefficient of linear
expansion of a copper and aluminium rod and also to know the factors the
change in length in thermal expansion. The coefficient of linear expansion of a
material determine how long an object changes in size or length. The higher the
coefficient of linear expansion, the lower the temperature needed to expand and
the longer the value of the change in length. It is based on the formula on how to
find the change in length of a material.
