Script Thingy

Setting: Alamo, D.C.

Characters: Santa, Davy, Jim, SFA, Andrew, Travis
Narrator (Jillian): The date is February 23, 1836. Santa Anna and his troops have just
arrived in San Antonio and have started laying siege to the Alamo.
Santa (Brian): We outnumber them. We can easily defeat them. Soldiers, get ready
to fight!
At the Alamo
Davy: The Mexicans are coming! We fight to the death!
Jim: Everyone to the battlements!
(Everyone runs to the battlements)
Santa: Greetings Texans! Muy bien, I see you brought your army of eighty, maybe
hundred soldiers. But look behind me. I have thousands of soldiers ready to march
into battle at my command! MWAHAHAHA!!! Do you wish to surrender now and be
executed in peace or face my army and die as another casualty?
Davy: WE SHALL NEVER SURRENDER!!!
Santa: Your decision has been made!
(red flag is hoisted)
Santa: You will not be shown an iota of mercy from me when I defeat you. Soldiers,
prepare to fight!!!
Travis (???): Arms ready and
Travis/B: FIRE!!!
(loud gunshots)
Narrator: On February 24, 1835, Bowie is found to be sick and is diagnosed with
tuberculosis. Although faced with managing the whole Texan army at the Alamo by
himself, Travis bravely writes a letter from the Alamo stating that he will never give
up or surrender to Santa Anna.
Travis: If this call is neglected, I am determined to sustain myself as long as

possible & die like a soldier who never forgets what is due to his own honor & that
of his country. VICTORY OR DEATH. William Barret Travis. (sighs)
Jim Bowie: (cough) I cannot fight anymore. Travis, you must never stop fighting or
surrender to the horrendous Santa Anna.
Travis: I will not, Jim. We will win the Alamo and our independence. Santa Anna will
never prevail!
Jim: Dont worry about me anymore. Go help others who are sick or wounded and
reassure the women and children.

Narrator: Meanwhile, Stephen F. Austin struggles to explain his situation an enlist

help from the United States, despite being a friend to the President.
SFA: Hello, Andrew. Texas is in an extremely dire situation and I have come to
humbly request your help.
Andrew: All right, Stephen. What do you need?
S: Texas is losing the war against Mexico. Travis, Bowie, and their garrison have
been trapped in the Alamo with Santa Anna and almost 1500 Mexican soldiers
waiting outside. As of now, losing the Alamo and all the people in it, including
women and children, seems imminent. To help us win this war and make up for our
losses, I would like support in the form of men, supplies, and weapons.
A: (sighs) You have put me in an extremely difficult situation, Stephen. The United
States sympathizes with Texas and its fight for revolution, but we cannot afford
another war like the War of 1812 with yet another country. If we openly support
Texas, Mexico is sure to declare war on the United States, and I do not think the
United States is ready to fight that war.
S: (sighs heavily) I understand that you cannot help me, Andrew. Your loyalty as
President is to the United States first and foremost, as it should be. But perhaps you
could help me indirectly?
A: How do you mean?
S: You do not have to officially declare yourselves our allies and fight Mexico, but
can support us quietly.
A: I will think about it.
S: Thank you very much, Andrew.
