Where Im From

I am from Gastonia, NC,

from Aimee Martin and Roger Rule.

I am from the mistakes made by two nineteen year old misfits. (Young and wild,
they had a daughter.)

I am from the grandparents that raised me as if I were their own.

I am from constant questions about my parents whereabouts and what is was
like living with grandparents.
I'm from wise words and constant support.
I'm from never regretting my upbringing because it could not have been better.
I'm from admiration for the selflessness of the people that raised me.

From the trips to see my parents a few times a year to seeing how much of a
burden they were to my grandparents before I was born.
From two stepparents, three stepsiblings and a half-brother.

I am from those moments I could not control that led to my presence in this
world.
I am a leaf on a family tree of makeups and breakups, love and hate, and an
unspoken promise to always have each others back.
