The Purpose of this source is to give detail on the life of the Vanderbilt family,
and how their experience in the twenties differed from those around them, the
transformation of the estate and the gardens, as well as the transformation of
the town around them. This source would be used to help evaluate the lives of
the Vanderbilt's and their empite when they fs uit the Bitmore, The
Limitation ofthis book s that it doesn talk about how the Estates now. The
strengths ofthis books tat it its very important ey points and sticks within

| will use this source for my presentation. For my presentation we will be
discussing the past of the Biltmore Estate and this will be a very helpful resource
in explaining what it was lke being @ Vanderbilt ving in such a luxurious home.
‘The author Ellen Rickman has only written one book but is still a very renowned
author and knowledgeable when it comes to the Biltmore.

‘The reason for this book is to take you on a journey through the Biltmore Estate,
This source is helpful in discussing the architectural detail of the interior and
exterior of this fascinating castle. This is a unique book because it talks about
the issues of the home as well. | do not see any drawbacks to this book. An
interesting feature of this book is that it has @ quiz at the end so that you can.
test your knowledge on the Biltmore Estate. Another strength is that this book is,
written in 2015 and it has details dating back to when the Biltmore was first
opened in a modern point of view.
| intend to use this source for my presentation. It will be good to use to explain
‘the past and present component of my presentation. The architecture isa very
important part of the Biltmore that | think my audience will be very interested
to hear about.

The goal of this magazine article is to take you on a behind- the- scenes tour of
the Biltmore as well as to tell you about the hidden secrets of the estate. This
source is useful because | learned about things | was unable to find in any other
source. | found this article very interesting and have shared it with my semester
long project group. An interesting fact | learned about the Biltmore from this
source is that there are fifteen occupied homes on the estate. The onlydrawback about this article is that
is very lengthy but it is full of quality
information.
| will use this source for my presentation because it is full of information that is
unique. The Biltmore has a rich history and this article does a great job of telling
‘the audience things that they would not learn from the Biltmore tour or from.
reading other articles.
Our state magazine is a credible source. It is a great guide for visitors and also
informational for those who are North Carolinians. Our State is reliable because

experience. Christmas time is a very important part of the year for the estate
because it draws in many guests from all over North Carolina as well as out of
state. This source is beneficial to my presentation because it talks about an
event that has been happening for a long time and stil brings in new guests. |
think that my audience would be interested in hearing stories about the special

| will use this source as an example of what kind of events that the Biltmore
holds on the estate. | do not think that it will be a big part of my presentation. |
think it is important for our audience to know that the Biltmore has more tooffer then just a house tour and this source will help me give examples on what

This author is not @ very well-known author but she has written about 160
articles. The source is a good source because it talks about the experience of the

The goal of this article is to talk about the Tiffany Stained Glass exhibit held at
the Biltmore. Even though it was 2 one-time event it brought in many people
‘that were interested in seeing the stained glass displayed in such a beautiful
home. This source will be useful because itis an example of how the Biltmore
holds different events to bring in different people. One of the strengths of this,
source is it talks about the Tiffany exhibit and how it impacted the Biltmore,
| will use this source because it will be helpful in explaining how the Biltmore
uses different events from outside sources to bring in new people. This will go
with the past, present and future part of my presentation, Also it does a great
job in explaining how the Biltmore works on getting people to come back to visit
the estate more than once.
The author who wrote this article is G. Clarke. | could not find much information
on them. | do not know how reliable this source is. | found this author through
the UNCC library search engine and the authors name links up with many other

This books purpose is to talk about the Vanderbilt dream, the Vanderbilt home,
the winery and more about the treasures of the wilderness surrounding the
estate. This book is useful to find information about the Vanderbilt's as a family
and how they started their legacy. The limitation of this book is that it only talks
about a few Vanderbilt's and how they contributed to their legacy.
| will use this source so that | can describe what the Vanderbilt's had in mind
when they first came to America. This will be a great source to use for the past
part of my presentation
Howard E. Covington is an award winning author who has written around sixty
books about various topics. | would say that this is avery reliable source due to
his many knowledgeable written works.

ornaments and details of the house, This would be useful for those interested in
architecture as well as how the Biltmore house was designed. The strength ofthis book is that it tells you step by step how the Biltmore was built and
decorated.
|am not sure if | will use this source since | have another source that talks about
the architectural details of the estate. It is very important for the audience to
know about detail that went into building the Biltmore house so they can
understand the appreciation the Vanderbilt's home.

various architectural masterpieces. They are very reliable sources because they
are experts on architecture and design.
