FOCUS
AREA

Warm Up- Frogs and Lily Pads

Hoops are placed around the playing area
Students are to perform a spring that the teacher directs- leap or jump
Students continue this movement to music until the music stops
When music stops students must jump onto a lily pad- into a hoop
Students cannot jump into a hoop that is already occupied by another

(LLPA;
HBPA)

RESOURCES

Flat open surface

20 Hoops
8 Markers

Extension: Reduce the number of hoops available to jump into and have
series of eliminations, those eliminated are responsible for removing
hoops
Use different coloured hoops and have a points system allocated to
different coloured hoops. Those with the most points win

Method of
Assessment;
Informal Assessment

Warm Up- Stretch

Specific stretches to lengthen and warm involved body parts- students
may be asked to run this teaching component (non-participants can run
this component also or be involved)
Examples: hamstrings, calves, triceps, biceps, neck, back
Revision of Basic Springs and Landings
In a circuit formation, students will rotate through stations in groups of 4,
practicing;

Springs and Landings Circuit
Divide students into groups of 4
Using a variety of equipment including beat boards, hoops, benches,

performing a spring of choice back to the team and tagging the next
student
Learner Diversity

Have non-participants spot, help groups, judge final activity or run

stretching session- create series of stretches

Non-participants or weaker students may help spot positions

Smaller groups increases maximum participation

Have demonstrations of each activity and position to assist weaker

students understanding

Clear concise instructions

Provide activity alternatives- challenges and modifications for

weaker and stronger students

Confirm understanding of activity before commencement

Attend all groups and individuals- provide feedback,

encouragement and correction
