ThisunitwasdesignedforeleventhgradeU.S.historystudentsatNobleHighSchool.
Throughoutthelessons,studentslearnabouttheAmericanCivilRightsMovement.Thisunit
encouragesstudentstoimaginewhatlifewaslikeintheJimCrowSouth,tounderstandwhyso
manypeoplewerewillingtorisktheirlivestochangeit,andtoexplorehowtheywentabout
doingso.Thelessonsconsistofhandsonandengagingactivitieswithanevenmixofgroupand
individualwork.Classdiscussionswillalsohaveakeypartinstudentlearning.Studentswill
concludetheunitwithawholeclassSocraticwherestudentsanswerthequestionWhowas
