could be used as a resource:
This website it great for teachers and also for parents. They have information and
activities for K-5th grade math in Numbers, Geometry, and Measurement and Data.
The website gives you information about each of the different math topics and also
exercises you can do with your students. I think this website is really helpful for
teachers who have students that are struggling in math because they can go here
and find different activities to send home with their students that are fun and help
re-inforce the material taught in class. This website also has a section that list
books about the different topic that you can read aloud to your child or student.

This blog is a really helpful resource if you need tips on teaching mental math to 2 nd
grade students. She has created 6 different strategies for mental math: Counting
on, Doubles, Doubles Plus One, Making Ten, Making Multiples of Ten, and Front End
Addition. She lists the strategies in the order that you should teach them in and
gives you a brief explanation of each one. This website is a great resource from
someone that has used these strategies and know that they are effective. Teachers
and parents have left comments on Ms. Grays blog post telling her about how these
strategies have helped them with their children and students.

This whole website has all kinds of manipulatives you can order and buy to help you
teach mathematics and science. The portion I looked at for this evaluation talked all
about the benefits of using manipulatives when you are teaching. This is a good
resource for someone who is looking into why manipulatives are a good tool and
how they benefit students learning. The website was last updated this year so all of
the content is relevant and the materials are up to date. The website also lists
references that they get all of their information from for the article that talks about
the benefits of manipulatives.

that is unique about this website is that it has math activities that connect to
holiday fun, art, history, science, social studies, and music. This allows students to
connect math with other things they may enjoy doing outside of school. This is a
great resource to help math teachers make connections between the material and
the real world for their students.

This is a website that is published by McGraw-Hill Education to help with everyday
mathematics at home. All of material on this site is for Pre-K through the 6 th grade.
Once you choose the specific grade you are looking for the material is categorized
by units. For the 2nd grade some of the units include numbers and routines,
fractions, patterns and rules, decimals and place value, and measurement. Within
each unit there are lessons, vocabulary, home link helps, and games. This is a very
helpful website for parents and teachers to use when their children and students
need extra help with different math concepts.
