Are passive participants in class

Possess limited or little background knowledge
Negative attitude towards activities
Prone to not turning in work
Use few or no strategies to actively regulate or
enhance learning
Difficulty with focusing or staying on-task
Much more error-prone
Requires extrinsic motivation
More focused on the moment than long-term
impacts
Does not see value or need in classroom activities
More limited in the appropriate behavior or social
skills they exhibit
Unresponsive to low-level consequences
