    COMPETENCE: Pupil Service Standard 1: The pupil services professional
    understands the
    teacher standards under s. PI 34.02.

    EXHIBIT IMPORTANCE FOR STUDENTS: A competent professional school


    counselors should have the knowledge and skills of the above mentioned
    foundations in order to provide appropriate services and best meet the needs
    of their students. Education standards are important because teaching is a
    vital component in a comprehensive and developmental guidance
    curriculum. The standards outline the specific requirements for Educators in
    Wisconsin.
    WHAT DID YOU LEARN AS A RESULT? I have four years of prior education
    experience as a middle school teacher. The coursework I completed at UWPlatteville allowed me to apply new knowledge and skills to my previous
    experiences. I believe my Prac II placements have allowed me to strengthen
    my skills as an educator by working with students, teachers, and parents.
