1. For someone working in your field, please describe the fantasies versus realities of the job.

A fantasy is being appreciated for all of the time and effort you put in, but in reality there are so many
office assistants that youre just a helper for the doctor

(educational level and requirements)
I have an associates degree and am required to complete CMA courses provided through the office

See patients and document what Dr. Trynosky says, take patients to room, and answer a million phone
calls
4. How secure are you in your current position? What do you think is the future of your field?
(job security)
Fairly secure because I feel like I work hard, but technology is starting to lower the number of jobs
needed in this field.
5. What is a typical (average or lowest to highest) salary of someone working in your field?
(salary)
A little more than minimum wage, a lot depends on your experience and how long youve been with the
company

6. What potential for growth is there in your field?

(growth potential)
You can always grow, but that would require more schooling to become a nurse or something along that
lines and I am not sure if I want to do that.
7. How many years have you worked in this field?
I have worked in this field for 3 years.
8. What is the most rewarding part of working in dermatology?
I like helping out and making people feel comfortable. It is always good to have a patient leave happy.
9. Was this your initial job goal?
I knew I wanted to be a caretaker and this was one of the options available to me with the amount of
schooling I had completed.
10. Do you genuinely enjoy your job?

I do enjoy my job and learning from Dr. Trynosky. It can definitely get stressful at times, but its
worth it.
