Dear Parents/Guardians,

I am writing you this letter to inform you about the data collection that will
be incorporated into your childs experience here at school. As a district we
not only collect data from the students with the state standardized tests, but
as individual teachers we collect and sort data to better your childs learning.
I will be consistently collected data among the class because data is not only
grades. I will make sure every student feels safe and encouraged in the
learning environment. I will also be sending surveys home to you in the
middle of the year to better my understanding of how your child views our
class.
Data collection among the students will allow myself and other educators to
understand where your student stands among the material. We will be able
to note improvement but also where we may need to step in and teach more
of the material. Students will be aware of charts and graphs from their
learning, not only because this is a math class, but because they need to
visibly see where their learning is going.
I am excited to see how your student grows through the content and how
they improve on their internal motivation from following their learning
growth.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me.
