The University of Northern Colorado Cheer Fact Sheet provides an overview of the UNC Cheer team. The competitive team has 21 athletes (17 women and 4 men) who practice year-round, including intensive "work weeks" led by head coach Krysten Guse. UNC Cheer is a competitive team that competes in the National
Cheerleading Association National Competition in Daytona, Florida There are 21 athletes on the team (17 women, 4 men) Practices are year-round and include work weeks of 2-3 practices each day o Work weeks take place during summer, winter and spring breaks. Coaches are Krysten Guse and Amanda Kies o Head coach, Krysten Guse, is a UNC alumni and former UNC cheerleader
Team Skillset
Athletes are required to maintain physical fitness for the duration of
the season Each member is required to complete 2+ hours in the gym each week, lifting weights and running Cheerleaders are expected to perform the following skills: o Stunts: Lifting/throwing team members in the air for a sequence of motions o Tumbling: Typically referred to as the floor aspect of gymnastics (back handsprings, tucks, layouts, etc.)

Each athlete is expected to hold themselves, and other teammates

UNC Cheer will have a Nationals Showcase on April 3 rd at
