Week of April 25th 29th

A Peek at Our Week

In ELA this week we focused on the ow


and ou sound in words like cow, ouch, etc.
We reviewed the elements of plot in a
story including the conflict and resolution.
We also reviewed the importance of
sequence in a plot and practiced putting
events in order. We also learned how to
make predictions before and while reading
a story.

In Math, we focused on the topic of
money this week. We learned how to
identify coins based on their
characteristics (size, shape, color),
heads & tails sides, and value. Ask
your student to recite the coins poem
at home!

Upcoming Events
Milk money for May ($10.50) due as soon as possible.
Early Release on Thursday, May 5th at 12:20pm.
Scholastic Book Orders due Friday, May 6th.
Field Trip to Junie B. Jones on Monday, May 16th.

Scholastic Book Orders

This week in Science we began to


learn about different habitats.
Students will be exploring habitats
such as the forest, rainforest,
desert, and more over the next few
weeks!

In your students folder are the


scholastic book flyers for the month
of May as well as a notice informing
you on how you can order books. All
orders must be submitted online or
returned to Room 8 no later than
Friday, May 6th.
