This term in our History unit we will be learning about migration
throughout Australian history. A part of your lessons and homework this term will involve you writing a blog post. Throughout the unit there are 5 blog posts that you must complete to show your understanding of what we are learning in class. Bellow is an explanation of each blog task, what is required of you and the date it is due. Blog post 1: My family history Due: Week 2 Friday You are to write one or two paragraphs explaining your familys cultural history, where you were born, where your parents were born, when you may have moved to Perth and the reasons for this move. If you family has lived in Perth and not migrated from another country, city or town you are to write possible reasons why you havent moved. Blog post 2: Reflection of Immigration Restriction Act Due: Week 4 Friday You are to reflect on the Immigration Restriction Act of 1901, was it fair? How? How not? Why was it Implemented? What cultures or type of people did the Act aim to prevent from entering Australia? Blog post 3: Predict Immigration policy after 1975 Due: Week 5 Friday You are to use what you have learnt in the unit so far to predict the next immigration policy after 1975. You are to provide reasonable and valid reasons for a policy change that aims to be fairer and less discriminatory. Blog post 4: Reflect on the change of Immigration Policy after 1975 Due: Week 6 Friday Reflect on the abolishment of the Immigration restrictions act of 1901 and the new discrimination act of 1975. Describe why it was needed and the effects the change of policy had. Blog post 5: Incursion Reflection Due: Week 3 Friday After listening and participating in the Suitcase migration Incursion from the Western Australian state Library you are to reflect on at least 2 things you have learnt as well as your personal engagement and enjoyment of the activities.
