1.1 Contents/Scope
This internet resource guide is a compilation of online sources that may be helpful
for users looking for more information and current news about select influential
artists within five main genres of music. These genres are electronic dance music,
rock, hip hop, rhythm and blues, and pop. The types of sources that can be found in
this guide are magazine articles, references, websites, web journals, and blogs. This
guide is to educate people who are interested in learning more about influential
artists within the five different genres mentioned.
1.2 Intended Audience

The audience of this guide is generally anyone interested in learning more about
music aside from their preferred genres. College freshmen who are trying to fit into
a new environment are a prime example. The people in this audience are curious
individuals, audiophiles, or people who just want to learn more in general. Each
source contains at least a small background into each specific artist so prior
knowledge of these music genres and artists is not expected from the audience.
1.3 Key Assumptions

It is assumed that the target audience is passionate about music and that these
people simply want to learn more about music and the driving forces behind certain
genres influences and popularity. It is assumed that people enjoy music and can
agree that it is one of the most common forms of artistic expression.
1.4 Organization
The guide is useful for anyone trying to learn more about influential artists in
different genres. This guide is easy to navigate through because of how it is
organized. First, the user will see a main heading of the genre, a heading of the
name of the source, and then the source type in italics. A citation of the source and
its location is given with a brief description of the source. Finally, the user can
expect tips on how to use the source for the most efficiency.

articles on the right hand side of the website, that for the most part, are irrelevant.

The YouTube clips help a lot because you may have never heard of the band name,
but you will most likely recognize one, if not a few of the songs

Most of the bands are older and that is most likely why they do not sound familiar
