Looking at the coaching staff now it is a decent staff but could be improved in some
areas. Looking at the staff already put in place by previous head coach Browning; there are five
assistant coaches to deal with 90 plus collegiate athletes. Starting on defense Wayne Bradford in
his seventieth year has many titles including defensive coordinator, defensive line coach, and the
head recruiting coordinator. Along with, Raven Battle who has been coaching Edinboro
linebackers for 3 season but has eight years before he joined the Scots. Two good coaches who
have proven to take on the work load having a few all conference players and keeping the team
defensive stats ranked high but not at the top. Now to flip over to offense, there is Coach Joe
Wanson in his first season as a full time coach will have control of the quarterbacks and wide
receivers. Jack Corey will work with the offensive line and tight-ends, also in his first season as
being a coach, and both are former players. Finally, Jim Henson running-backs who coming up
on his 18th year coaching for Edinboro and his 42 year coaching mainly on the offensive side of
the ball.
Graduating five great players who made their mark and left legacy on the Edinboro program.
Starting on offense, Jacob Potts who played tackle entered into his senior year with 31 starts, the
third-highest total by a PSAC player, and then started all 11 games of his senior year. Next, Joe
Sullivan, at center who appeared in the last 22 games of his career. Alongside the other two
offensive lineman, Jaycen Watts guard who started as red-shirt freshman. Switching gears
Edinboro losses its main pass rusher, defensive end, Domenic Principale who led the PSAC and
ranked fourth in Division II in forced fumbles, and was 8th in the conference and 35th nationally
for sacks. Finally, star linebacker Mike Shansky finished as the leading tackler with 84 stops,
also had a team-high 36 solo hits. All five seniors were great asset to the team showing
leadership on and off the field, and can hang up their cleats knowing they did left their mark.
The greatest part about Scots is the youth of the team lead by explosive offense. Which includes
leading rusher Cory Bell followed by Ja'maal Eveillard combining for over 800 yards.
Quarterback Jake Sisson threw for almost 2000, and will be throwing to the triple threat triangle
lead by 2nd team all-conference selection Darren Massey along with Alex Caratelli both had over
800 plus yards receiving and Sean Rolick. In addition to the offense the special teams threat
Mitch Thomas who led the team in all-purpose yards 1023 all of which came from kick and punt
returns. Flipping over, on defense Josh Kibbie is a promising nose guard leading the team in
sacks and tackles for lost. Next to Kibbie young talent including Sam Breese to cause opposing
quarterbacks nightmares. The number of freshman who made an impact last season on this side
of the remarkable including safety DeVon Grooves, inside linebacker Trey Hall, and at cornerback Mitch Thomas who is also the electrifying returner.
