In this science lesson, you will watch and use simple pump, called an Spiral Pump, to transfer water
from a low-lying location to a higher location.
Criteria: -
How :- Describe how you will assess the L. I. Attach an example of what you will do :Diagnostic: The teacher can make sure each student has been involved in the mat time discussions prior to learning
and questioning by prompting students who havent spoken to check their understanding.
Observations: The teacher can take notes during the class on who understands the topic and who may need further
help. They can also take notes on what the students say and do during the diagnostic or post activity discussions.
Peer Assessments: The students will work together with other students on the crank and model. They will also be
allowed to discuss their work with other students during and at the end stages of the activity to find out how each of
their instructions worked or needed improving.
Feedback: Direct feedback will be asked of students at the end of the lesson, where the teacher will make sure each
student has been involved in the mat time after the activity, using questioning and discussions to prompt students
who havent spoken to check their level of understanding.
Recording:- Attach a sample of a recording sheet for each lesson which includes spaces for childrens names and
the assessment criteria.
